The Hubbs message board post doesn't really say what you want it to. It says he got a "message" that a deal was done. He hasn't been able to confirm. In times like these, Hubbs probably gets dozens of messages saying all sorts of stuff on a daily basis.

We knew what it said and what he meant. He hadn't confirmed it but he doesn't just post random stuff and think he has an idea what is about to take place.

He and I communicate from time to time. I would definitely think he's a viable option. He's a guy who loves coaching and loves Tennessee. Our history is probably the reason we get along so well, my dad was a coach in a small town and Jon is a rural Ohio guy whose dad was a coach, so we're just two good ol' boys who like to talk football. I can't sit here and say he will take it if offered, but I do think he would listen. Tennessee is like home for him and he'd be a great fit."

How far fetched is it to think that if Blackburn was the AD, that Gruden would have already accepted?

I am in Ohio. I have two connections which I have badgered repeatedly for a month only to receive replies from both stating they knew nothing. Until an hour ago. One of these men played high school baseball with me and played qb at Univ of Dayton ahead of Jon Gruden. The other is a friend since childhood who was a non football decorated Vol who remains in Knoxville to this day, and is very involved in Vols athletics and media.

Within the last hour, separate from each other, both have messaged me saying it is happening. BTW, I haven’t reached out to either of these guys in over a week.
