Unlike most of you Finebaum is my go-to source for SEC info. What he reported today on the show tells me that I'm about to eat my words. This Gruden thing might be for real.

If Currie’s IQ is above room temperature he would have Hubbs squashing these rumors of Gruden had he indeed turned the job down. The fact that Hubbs mentioned that text about the deal being done has me excited.

She stood there and talked to us before the game for about 20 minutes. She was very nice.

Check out the young aTm fans hand. He wouldn't touch her. His dad gave him He77 about it.

Yes, because he and more importantly the higher ups gave it the chance. They swung big, hit the hire and if he jumpes back to the pros maybe its because he's killin it here.

Edited because either me or my phone had a stroke on the first attempt

If he's making $10m or so to coach Tennessee, it's doubtful an NFL team would be willing to pay him more than that. Tennessee might actually be able to win a bidding war against a pro team.

The biggest hurdle for Tennessee to overcome with Gruden is convincing him to leave a gig where he gets to talk about football on national TV and make about $6.5m. In order to get him, I think they'll have to go north of $10m. Come close to doubling his salary. They might have to make him the highest paid coach in college football right off the bat, which is a risky move given that he hasn't coached at all since 2008 and hasn't been on a college coaching staff since 1989.

I think that he could still coach Xs and Os and his personality would lead to recruiting gets, especially early on in his tenure. Another question is does he want to recruit.

Lol been talking to my co-worker about Grumors for days now and he is still a nega-Grude. Says Gruden's comments on Mike and Mike this morning show he isn't coming and that this is the same as 2012. Man, he does not understand how coach speak works during hiring season. In other words.....SOON!

What if he comes here for 3 years and then returns to the pros ? He is a pro coach first. Everybody still be happy ?

OK. That would be fine. At least he would have given us three years. We will have the best recruits in the nation and a very solid foundation that ANY other coach would want to work with. So I would thank him for what he has done and we would move ahead.
