Just caught up...not sure why there isn't a party going on right now.

Blackburn article
National news saying it's possible
Bubba saying it's done

OranePill saying it's as done as it can be without a podium and camera

VFL's blowing up twitter

SMH...Cheer up ya'll

Go Vols!
Your not caught up then

Lay down his life is a little strong lol. His job is not to say everything without a filter like the old TSR days. He has a listener base far more diverse now and in his personal life Butch was a good man he just treated some on and around the team badly. Erik is not on the team nor is he employed by UT except his spot on the Sunday show. Some people rely on sensationalism to sell their product; some on smaller stations with few listeners have to. He doesn't.

I was being sarcastic but you got the point, ha. And i understand that, I do. Majored in communications at UT, but he by no means needs to go out of his way to defend Coach Jones the way he did after the firing and such.

But again to my next question, if you know there are trolls here and know who they are, you need to tell us who they are. It does zero good to the thread for you to swoop in and say there are trolls without calling anyone out specifically. What harm does it do if you call someone out and you’re sure?

On the flip side, if you don’t then they continue feeding us what they want and we will choose to believe it because it’s what we want.

Call them out and if you’re telling the truth, it should be easy to tell that you are the one telling the truth. To me you either do that or you shouldn’t have said anything in the first place.

But him saying he called recruits to see if Jones had contacted them after he was fired was a bad move on his part.

Say Gruden signs the contract tomorrow (or it’s already signed). Honestly asking, how can they keep it quiet? Someone won’t be able to hold it in right?

You don’t keep those things quiet. As soon as pen meets paper you schedule the presser. Let’s not kid ourselves. As soon as it’s binding, the world will know.

That's his intent. I don't know bcarter. I remember him from 2012. I know he got hurt from that. Too bad because it wasn't his fault. I haven't formed my opinion from a single source. The hargis article this morning really nailed it down completely for me. I truly don't think he'd have written it if this weren't finished after what he went through last time.

Thank God! I don't have to reread the 2012 threads again. I think the wife would leave me and I would get fired if I spent any more time reading VN. 🤔

I'm not worried about all that brother, you should know better. I've been putting my own puzzle together.

I'll just leave it at that.

How you doing? Staying out of the hospital I hope!

I know you got this :)
It was kind of a general statement I guess. Love everybody who's having fun with the whole ride and not worried about having faith in message board posters.

Except Atlanta being a hell of a guy, that's just obvious.

Hope everything's back to normal in your area and you're doing well.
As far as my health? I have absolutely no intention of missing one second of Tennessee's rise back to glory.

Serious question: What if Gruden is a bust? The man hasn't coached in a very long time and its been even longer since he coached in the college ranks. Don't get me wrong from a personality and stature perspective he is the "man", but I'm more concerned with the Coach aspect. The other stuff simply won't matter if he can't coach.

It's not like the man has forgotten how to Coach. Not to mention he knows he's gotta surround himself around ground assistants and he will be able to hire the best staff ever assembled in college football. That will not be an issue.

lol I don't see Randy Sanders as part of a dream team.

I do. He’s not going to have a ton of control. If anyone thinks that Gruden won’t be doing 98% of the offensive play calling, they’re kidding themselves.

Think Randy Sanders more of a consultant lol. Plus, he’s VFL. I’m good with it

He can win playing with a wide-open offense, as he did with the Raiders. He can also win playing with a more conservative, ground-oriented approach, as he did with the Bucs. He adjusts based on the talent at hand. This is a level of tactical ability we have sorely-lacked in this program.

There are those who pour cold water over his ability, pointing out the winning percentage in the NFL and his ouster from the Bucs. The situation with the Bucs took a turn for the worse the moment the Glazers needed money to pay off their loan for Manchester United. It is no coincidence the money to attract quality free agents early in Gruden's time dried up the moment the team's owners bought United. By the time he was fired, the team's payroll was in decline even as the great players from the Super Bowl team were requiring replacement.

The above is one reason I don't believe he would entertain a return to Tampa. The Glazer family remains in charge and I doubt Gruden would trust them to live up to any promise to support his efforts.
