He's not going back to Tampa. Just like an article I saw the other day he's shown zero interest in going back to a job he was fired from and had a horrible falling out afterwards. They have since made up but he will not be coaching in Tampa. If he was going to be an NFL Coach again he would have already done it he's had numerous chances to do so. He's gonna be TN's next HC.

I agree, Gruden's ego/pride would not permit him to return to the team who's owners fired him...

james franklin was a vandy level coach....and look what he did when got to a place that wasn't vandy level.

Yeah, here's how I think these things play out.

[assuming he does appear on the program]

His staff are talking to the Mike and Mike staff today, laying out ground rules. There's dickering back and forth about what questions can and can't be asked, and whether they can continue to pursue a question after the initial answer.

It's all somewhat choreographed. This is, after all, entertainment. It is built to gain viewers/listeners, and every move is made with the audience in mind. On both sides.

So if he shows, it should be interesting. The staffs involved are built from the ground up to ensure that.

But there won't be any major announcement. That is only gonna happen with Currie and Gruden sharing a podium.

Anyway, what do I know, I'm not in this business. But that's how I think it goes.

I started reading the new threads 100 percent for entertainment only because there are such funny posters in here and it was a great escape from the season and D4H. Lol. But the more I read the more I have started to believe again. The fact that Bcarter has even started to waiver on his original thoughts says a lot to me. Either way, I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

P.S. I was Vonvol before. Had to start a new account because my phone died and couldn't remember my old Yahoo password that I had linked to my account. The backup email I had for that account was an AOL one. Hahaha! Talk about showing your age.

Understood, Chief is a great coach and VFL, but seldom can you relive the glory days. We really need to hit a homerun getting a DC.

We all need to remember that whoever is named OC will be in a support role. Gruden will be the game day OC and will call the plays. Sanders is a good coach and VFL. He would learn so much working daily with CJG.
