Drink another one
I can't even believe people are so lost that after the last 3 hires they still think this is a possibility

Go buy a another lottery ticket

Don't get me wrong, I would love the hire. I just think there are better hires. My point about his winning percentage is what it is-- that it's barely over 50 percent. There is no way to compare that to Butch Jones. Too many variables. But if you look up nfl coached with best winning percentages, I bet you would find him near the middle of the pack and Madden near the top if not the top.

If it didn't work out? That would be bad for him.

Heck, if 89 year old Madden wanted to come out of retirement, I would love that. That's not happening, obviously. There are only 4 active coaches in the NFL on that list of Super Bowl winners ahead of him right now. What hire do you think would be better? Who do you think could recruit better? Who do you think could assemble a better staff? Who do you think would be better at X's and O's? We're all ears.

Tony Dungy would be better. Better winning percentages too.

Hang on a sec...I read an article during the whole Beav thing that was written by Forbes in 97 and about a land purchase that was in bankruptcy. I just went back to reference it and it’s not there anymore (which is really weird), however there is another article that I hadn’t read that sort of rehashes the whole thing. I checked this out during the whole pocket aces thing. Type in Master bluffer Forbes into google and the first one that comes up is the one that is now not there and the second one I briefly scanned from 02. Someone smarter than me tell me if I found something or not.

You're not crazy - I read it too & had it bookmarked on my phone - just clicked on it & it's been taken down - not sure why

EDIT - Just saw Doc Vol saying he pulled it up without a problem so tried on the computer & it came up - not sure why link no longer works on my phone

What a well thought out and original response. Care to elaborate?

What makes Gruden any different than Harbaugh (SF) or Saban (Miami)? Other than a SB win with personnel he inheirited, there isn't. Harbaugh is struggling. Saban is Saban. You think Gruden, by name alone, is going to perform some miracle at TN? TN??? Don't see it. Saban didn't have the break in coaching that Gruden has had. Gruden doesn't have the market on Xs and Os. That's why he was barely above .500 in the NFL.

I’m at 99% Gruden. But for some reason, I can’t get Miles, Stoops, and Kelly out of my mind.

According to my sources and what I know, it’s Gruden’s to lose. We’ll see.

They were right about Butch being fired today last week, so I’ll hold to them on this Gruden info.
