Over half of the coaches on that list are barely over .500. Your argument is tired and has been discussed many many many times in length. You don't know what you're talking about and are just flat out wrong. I'm not trying to be rude, but you should just stop.
New drinking game. Everytime Currie says "The University of Tennessee" during a press conference. I'm glad he clarifies that this is the university he's talking about when he's on the podium discussing the football program. He could simply say "We"...but saying "The University of Tennessee" is excellent filler talk and makes him sound a lot more "athletic director-y" and "SEC-y".
Drink up.

My point was made in my original post. I'm not comparing him. I'm just saying he's barely over 50 percent as a coach. He's no Madden.
I'm talking about throwing names out and linking to Beaver. I wasn't trying to get on to anyone. I was just letting you know in case you didn't see the Freak warning several threads back. I saw a name thrown out and it looked like it was about to go down that path. :hi:
Did you answer the fact that was brought up that Butch has a higher winning percentage than Andy Reid? Point is, NFL to NCAA records are apples to oranges. Would you want the President of the local mom and pop bank to run CitiBank? Probably not. However, would you want the President of Citibank to come run your local bank? Pretty sure he would be successful at that.
Bringing up his NFL record is silly. He was an above .500 coach with a Super Bowl win against a team he built. I'll take that every day all day. The guy knows more football than any other candidate we would look at. He is an absolute rock star, and he would kill as a closer on the recruiting trail. You think Jon effin Gruden wouldn't be good in the living room?
You know what? Even if it didn't work out, I don't care. We would have swung for the fences and attempted to make an absolute splash. That is all we are asking for. There is no other name that does that. Kelly might to a lesser degree, but Gruden would be an automatic, immediate home-run.
Tennessee reportedly 'one of only three' college jobs Jon Gruden would take
AL.com reports that Gruden once said Tennessee was one of only three college jobs hed ever take:Gruden previously told school administrators that Tennessee is one of only three college jobs hed ever take, according to a source. Hes indicated real interest when Tennessee has reached out in the past but couldnt walk away from the lucrative deal he has with ESPN. Gruden is reportedly making at least $6.5 million annually for a job that requires considerably less work than what itd take to get Tennessee back on top.
10-4, youre right. I shouldnt have worded it the way I did and edited accordingly.
