If you look at Harry's posting history, you'll see "I was told" many times, including once "from a prominent booster". He was also told the MOU had been signed.

Time will tell if he's legit or not.

Correct, EVERYTHING I posted I said came from somewhere else and I was told that the he thought the MOU was signed, but he could not confirm.

Hmmmmmm interesting response

Same old ish just a different day Coasty.[/QUOTE]

I don't know how that post was credited to me.... That is not what I posted.... I quoted the guy who said it was copied and pasted and I said

interesting response ??? just wanted to clarify

Harry one of your previous posts:
From a friend:

I was told tonight..."We got Gruden...done deal." Came from same friend who told me about the Ergen deal. I don't have a timeline but that Gruden will be announced shortly after Butch is publicly fired. I was told this is to a point it can't be undone. Take it for what it's worth.

Sooo...which friend do you believe? I appreciate what you bring here

This was also another copy and paste from another website. I don't have problem with it other than the word "told" implies much more than "I read this on another website and thought I would share".

Stuff like this just turns all of this into a big echo chamber.

My wife's decorating rules are, "No Thanksgiving til Halloween is over, and no Christmas until Thanksgiving ends."

Works well for us. I'm the pack mule unless the girls happen to be home from college, but it works well for us.
Same here. Oldest daughter in charge of the tree after I put it up. The other two daughters are supervised by the oldest, hilarious stuff.

Five categories of folks in this thread (and all of VolNation):

  • Most of us, who have zero insider info nor claim any;
  • True insiders, maybe a handful or so, who have all the good inside scoop, but are saying absolutely nothing;
  • Near-insiders, the friends of AD staff or boosters or coaching candidates, who get real info from time to time, and pass it on, though it is often cryptic...another handful of them;
  • Attention seekers, who know nothing but pretend they do, because they have a need to be valued by others...up to a dozen of these;
  • Trolls, who know nothing but pretend they do, just to try to hurt people...several of these.

From our perspective, there's no difference between the attention-seekers and the trolls, though they have very different motivations (one self-serving, the other destructive).

So to us, the real trick is telling the difference among the last three groups...notice that only about a third of all those who claim inside info actually has any. They're outnumbered by trolls and attention-seekers.

And the real insiders can't help us figure out who's who, because they'd give away the fact that they're insiders. So they sit silent and watchful.

It's a mess.

And the only lesson we can draw from this is: there's good info out there...but it's surrounded by absolutely made-up rubbish. Sometimes the rubbish is the stuff we want most to believe, and sometimes it's the most hurtful.

There's just no knowing.

At the end of the day, we just gotta wait for official news, and have fun enjoying each other's company while we do.

I'd be interested to know if we know the same people. I knew a few people back in 2012 and all of their info turned out to be true (everything was in place, we were just waiting for him to sign) etc etc.; I updated pretty often in the old threads and that's why I've got a good post:like ratio. I heard something similar from a couple of people I still keep in touch with that he's content where he's at, but I also get other info saying that, basically, we're just again waiting for a signature. I'm hoping the former isn't accurate. I've been quiet through this whole thing because I was wrong last time (even though I was right, it was just a last minute kind of "bamboozle") when I said 100% Gruden, so I'm just taking info as it comes and goes and remaining hopeful.

If you also copy and paste posts from other website and claim you were "told" then you have the same "source"

FYI, his "source" is another message board, where he copies posts and brings them over here. I follow both forums. Doesn't mean the info is right or wrong, but he has no idea who is posting it.

Right now he is checking with his "other source" that talked about Gruden flying into Tyson via an aircraft that does even serve Tyson to deliver the bad news. Literally from the 2012 pic of Gruden in an airport lobby (that was not Knoxville!) that some other joker posted here today and got summarily busted for. He has no source.

No Jon Gruden. Hell no.

Every time the head coaching vacancy comes up in Knoxville, Jon Gruden's name comes up because you guys get stars in your eyes.

Gruden then floats the idea of leaving to ESPN, using it as a way to get them to give him more money to keep broadcasting. IT'S HAPPENED EVERY SINGLE TIME HIS NAME COMES UP AS A COACHING REPLACEMENT AT TENNESSEE.

Tennessee needs a head coach who recruits well, with a proven winning record and genuinely loves the Big Orange and its fans. Jon Gruden has none of those abilities or capabilities. He ain't even a good NFL commentator.

I'm sick and tired of hearing Jon Gruden's name come up every time there's a vacancy. He needs to stay where he is, and we need to get us a great coach. Gruden is not. Dude... you're not in the running. Your number ain't coming up. I will personally travel the 100 miles to Knoxville myself and lobby AGAINST you if your name comes up, and I hope you are there visiting when I do.

Quit drinking the Gruden Koolaid, Vol fans. It ain't got no sugar in it.

I'd rather have Peyton Manning. Heck, I'd rather have Phil Fulmer back, before Jon Gruden. My mother would be a better choice.... at least, she has the dignity and respect to not use the offer to get more money out of her current employer.

Let me guess, you get highly upset when children walk in your front yard. SMDH
