I'm not a big fan of Larry, but I am curious as to what text he received that made him increase his confidence in Gruden being the next HC at Tennessee.

Ok just because I'm bored I've been fooling around with this Periscope app (that I just downloaded last night) I pulled up just a random podcast of some dude just yacking, and there are live messages that pop up on his show. That's the same thing I saw the Trey Wallace message in.

I sincerely hope Skeeter is incorrect in what information he's heard. Because if it is Mullen, that's going to alienate a decent portion of the fan base. Because he is just not worth the money it's going to take to get him out of Starkville. He's already making $4.5 mil a year. You think he's going to jump for less than $5 mil or more?

He won't because he's getting good money to post regular mediocre records with low expectations.

Honestly, if Gruden, Kelly, Patterson and Peterson aren't available, go with the cheap hire and roll the dice with Frost or Norvell. I'd much rather save $3 million or more on a salary and take a chance at an up and coming G5 coach rather than a P5 coach that just doesn't have a record worth crowing about. And before someone claims that's what we did with Jones, he was never mentioned in the same manner as Frost or Norvell.

I just don't see Patterson or Peterson leaving their current jobs but if there's a true shot at them or Gundy, then I lay out Gruden type money to get them.

Mullen is payed about right and he and his wife just needs to stay in Starkville.

Time for UT's administration to prove to the fans that their all in.

Curious about why you think this? He's not a west coast guy. Very much an east coast guy. UCLA is not allowed to pay monster money for coaches either.

My personal list of people who I'd hope for would be...

1) Gruden
2) Kelly

3) Patterson
4) Peterson



5) Fuente
6) Mullen

I'm higher obviously on Mullen than many of you but I stand by my statement that he's top 4 in the SEC right now. I'd put him on par with James Franklin as a coach. Miss State is that hard of a place to have success.

If we get below that tier I'm probably giving up 30+ years of season tickets and UT stands to lose 6 figures from me in donations assuming I live to a reasonable age. I'd imagine that is the case for many of us at this point. I'll still watch and follow, but if they won't take it serious my serious investment of time and money will be over.

Came home at 3 am and the wife isn't happy about it! Guess I'll deal with it tomorrow good thing I was at my cousins house and nothing else going on. I feel like ape right now.

I agree. If admin doesn't want to take it serious, why should the fans and players. JMO

Been there before. Just don't ask her "do you like hearing yourself b****? Good because I don't either." That doesn't end well.
