Funny story! Flew home from NYC this morning and had a layover in Atlanta. Wisconsin HC Paul Chryst saw my Tennessee shirt. News had just broke Of Butch getting fired and I had my headphones on. He told my wife he wanted to mess with me and tell me he was interviewing for the Tennessee job😂. Looking at his record, I’d say he wouldn’t be a bad choice at all🤔

I think the fact Currie isn't using a search firm is the most telling part of the conference today. I did a little digging to see if he has a history of performing these searches on his own. We know UT has along history of using search firms for all of their big hires.

As it happens, Currie used a search for the men's basketball hire at KState.

2) who would he bring in as assistants?

1). It’s not like he’s been away from football. You either think he could be successful or you don’t, nothing I say will sway you.
2.) You really want is to speculate on that?
3.) after year 1, no. See Saban. But unsuccessful after two years, yea. We need to get the program turned around and the head coach should be held responsible for that.

Interesting tidbit that I didn't see mentioned here...immediately after currie said there would be no search firm, he started saying that they have excellent resources to rely on. I'm not sure been researching myself trying to figure this out .... I originally thought he was referring to Thomas Rhett who performed this year at the CMA's and is a huge Tennessee fan who I've personally seen on the sidelines a few times. Maybe the MR is a smokescreen because he was afraid we'd figure out who he was talking about?
