I think old Coasty lured y'all into his trap. He is all in, but wants to temper his excitement with the realism that 2012 brought to us. JMO. No source.

Think of it this way, Gruden has already proven himself at the highest level. Stands to reason that if you’re a successful NFL coach, you’d probably be a pretty good college coach. Think of it this way, if you’re a successful president of a middle-market investment bank, that doesn’t guarantee that you’d be successful running Goldman Sachs. However, if Loyd Blankfein, currently the CEO at Goldman, decided to resign and take over a middle-market bank, I don’t think I’m going out on a limb saying he’d do a rather good job. Why? Because he’s already proven himself at the absolute highest level.

He did not prove himself, he won one Super Bowl with an absolutely stacked Bucs team.

After that he was mediocre at best

Texting with my SCar buddies.. they are so happy being 2nd place in the east. I told them that's good being as everyone in the division will be happy to finish right behind Gruden. I'm out there now and I'm all in! Bring this man home!

I’m waving the white flag, I AM PRO-GRUDEN

I simply stated that I think it’s stupid to pay him a base of 10.

The butthurt with some of you is real

Thanks preacher .... just feels like this is going to take a nose dive and we are all going to be Sorley disappointed again.... I am Gruden or Nothing...

The fact that all these folks are talking Gruden does NOT look good to me... if it was Gruden they would be trying to squash the rumors...imho... but if it's not they would let his name be used to keep every ones attention off the real candidates..

I am just ready for it to end.... and go on with my life :hi:

Man don't have the attitude of Gruden or nothing. You are better than that as a Vol Fan. You know I would love to have Gruden on the hill and I think it is a possibility but I hate to see people set themselves up to not give anyone but Gruden a chance. There are a lot of championship coaches out there and future championship coaches that can excel here. Like I said I hope to be shaking Jon Grudens hand at the meet and greet before the press conference when the hire is made but will be stoked with any hire that betters our chances of returning to competitive relevance and championship contention.

Brad Johnson at QB was stacked? They had a killer defense, but he took a very average QB and made him a super bowl QB. Also, didn't the team pretty much dump all of their players after that season?

For the first EVER, on Volnation..... I am going to out my source....

The person who told me that we are holding Butch till end of year to hire a presently active coach is .............
