Hey guys I’ve been active in this thread, maybe you’ve seen me, maybe you haven’t.

Anyways, I’ve yet to claim any insider info... I know this is how it always starts.

Anyhow, my father in law has always been huge UT and has plenty of connections. Sadly for the last few years the state of the program has really turned him off to it all tho. I knew if anyone I personally knew would know anything it would be him. This weekend the wife and I spent some time with my MIL and him. I knew he has just recently been with some people who would be in know(but not neccassarily pulling the strings). So I asked him what his thoughts are on the UT situation and our next HC...

But we have zero idea what kind of College coach he will be.

I want Gruden too but let’s be realistic here, if we’re throwing 10 million at people, why not go after a proven winner at the college level.

Just thats its a done deal. Last thing to be settled was money for staff and it has been agreed on. No timeline though. Still no news out of Ad sources I have.

It would be $10.2M with incentives (e.g. winning National Championship). That's not entirely crazy. The baseline would be lower (on the order of ~$7M or so) which isn't too crazy considering the standard now.

If we end up paying him the full $10.2M, IMO that's a great thing. The extra $3.2M beats 4-5 years of a potential dumpster fire coach at $4M per year.

If this is true then it Mullen and while he isnt Gruden he is a good coach.

Because the only surefire hire to compete for a NC year in and year out is Saban. Any hire is a risk. At lead Gruden won a Superbowl.

Not by me, and if it was identical then that’s just coincidence.

I left it kind of simple due to it involving my FIL. Again nothing huge, and I’ve never claimed to have info. I’ve also been active in here for awhile and had plenty of opportunity to try and get attention if that’s what I wanted. But again I know what I said wasn’t even hinting at enough to get attention either.

Me personally, it was just cool to hear from someone I trust outside of the forum even hint at the idea in his own way. That’s all:/
