Official Jon Gruden Thread 31

He’s gotta know. And if there’s ever any kind of 30 for 30 done on message boards, this needs to be the keynote portion. This board with the Kiffin and Bryce brown stuff. And especially if after 30-40 threads gruden actually comes... would be so interesting for any hardcore fan to watch.

We are without a doubt the craziest fan base on any message board. I frequent other teams message boards and they don't have anywhere near the traffic we have. Most of them end after a max of 20 pages or so. This site is an anomaly.

I can't open the link. Did he really say it was an elected official that texted him? Someone posted that a few pages back.

Can't tell if it was an elected official or son of an elected official who texted him. Likely the latter, meaning the elected official was told by the big players JG was signed on Wednesday.

Just looking for clicks. On another note I really think just reading the tea leaves, if Tee..haha has been offered he may take it. I know he wants a HC job but, this would get him back to TN and who knows where that could go in a few years.

Really? Tee sounds the least credible to me. I heard his wife works out there or something? Can’t remember.

She does, and I think he will stay west. Just saying if he is serious he may take the offer and wow....I for one would love to see him back here. And if the offer has been made and I think it has.......just damn! We may be back!

My understanding has always been that Mrs. Tee is the main roadblock to Tee coming back to Knoxville. She is wrapped up in her music/movie star career in Hollywood and also has no desire to live in Podunktown USA (her opinion, not mine)

Oh, I’m for sure on board. I think there’s about a 25% chance it happens. Just because I ultimately doubt how much gruden might want to be on a college football sideline.

Like you, I was just around in 2012 and remember how it was a done deal then too. Some of the same people we’re following now saying gruden would be the next coach at UT.

And again.. I do not fault those guys for being wrong. They shared what they had good reason to believe was good info. It just wasn’t final info. And this time around.. could be the same deal.

The main reason that I believe and want it to happen is because of my son. He is a UTK graduate in 2001, is on this thread and posts frequently, a die hard Grudenite and also one the most passionate Vol fans I know. I am old enough to remember the golden years of UT football, held season tickets for over 30 years and attended every game in our champion ship year when he was a student. Of course I want it to happen for me, but more than that, I want it for him and all his friends and other young fans that have never had the experience and pride of a championship team. We have waited a long time, so maybe, just maybe this is for real. GO VOLS!!!

Whoa. I’ll have to check it out. Is he hot in it, though? Don’t you hate when you hear someone you like is going to be in something and then they look like a troll? I hate when that happens.

That's what I've heard as well but if he has a chance at this, well I think he will take it. That's my hope anyhow...

Same here. I have a daughter due in January and I desperately want her to grow up in a golden era of Tennessee football.

9 years for me

Likewise. I’ll never forget driving home from our loss in ATL at the chic-fil-a bowl and thinking, “well, at least we’ve still got the basketball season ahead of us.” At the time, I lived off of Alcoa highway and as we were nearing home, we passed a car being searched by several police officers. Yup, it was several of the starters for our basketball team... a few days in advance of the UT v Kansas game. I think I’ve been lurking since that morning.
