I don't believe beaver gave that quote. That quote is found if you google ending of the odyssey and it comes from shmoop.com. At least that's where I found it when I googled ending of the odyssey. I'm assuming OP googled it and quoted it. It's not from a beaver dropping.

AllVol...can we get a ruling about the genesis of your previous beaver quote post?

Shelbyville is the land of the Beady-Eyed people.

Scaredest I ever got in my youth: one night we were in the car headed to Normandy (a small town near Shelbyville) to meet up with a witch who, it was said, would tell our fortunes if we pulled up in front of her house at precisely midnight and honked once with all the windows open...so anyway, we were trying to find that place, and took a wrong turn, ended up on a gravel road headed up a steep hillside...it was wooded, but winter and the trees had no leaves, could see pretty well by the near-full moon.

At the top of the hill, the road let out into a big clearing, about the size of two football fields, side-to-side. And the entire clearing was scattered with people. All just standing there, spread out arm's distance from each other. All over the clearing. They all turned to look at us in the car, but otherwise did nothing. Didn't shield their eyes from the glare of our headlights, or move to get out of our way, or anything.

Turned as tight a circle as I could and got us the hell out of there.

Yep, the land of the Beady-eyed people. Shovel.

Depending on how old you are that might be the "Cat Lady" you're referring to

Well, I'm actually in Shelby County. Actually a step up - in many ways actually... But yeah, my soul needs blessing.

All my kids are 100% UT fans though! That's what matters!!

Raising 'em right. I'm about 2.5-3 hrs south of you. My son is 2 and already says "Go Vols!"

p.s. A few cogent facts I failed to mention initially: first, there were no cars on the gravel road leading to the clearing, or in the clearing itself. How did those hundreds of people get there? No idea. And second, what were they doing, standing all spread apart in the dark like that? There were no lanterns or flashlights, no campfires, no light at all except the moonlight, until our car arrived. Eerie as all friggin' get-out.

Never did find out what it was about. And never tried to find that gravel road again, either. We did eventually find the witch's house. But that's another story.

Dats creepy af bruh

This is the one thing that is driving me crazy. Volreporter sounded like Radio. Like he was mentally challenged. I’m not trying to be funny either. He posted as if he were on the set of Gameday, never responded to people who called him out and then would just repost the exact same post as before multiple times. I NEVER ONCE believed him/her. It was blatant. Beav won me to his side when he offered to help a fellow Vol find a job. Trolls don’t do that. He may end up being totally wrong (which I doubt) but that was a classy move.

Did Geronimo get that job yet?

Cool! Never heard that name for her, actually never heard any name for her. She was just a rumor to us.

That would've been in the winter of '76-77, or '77-78, because I was driving.

Right timeline?
