The first game of the season with his signature line "wherever you are around the world, it's football time in Tennessee!" still gives me chills when I hear it.

Well, see, you walked into a house without taking the time to learn who populated it or what their customs were.

The Official Gruden threads are actually a neat little community that several of us football forum regulars have had the good fortune to find lately. But they've long established a culture in these threads that is unique to them. You'd have known that if you'd taken the time to look around before opening up.

Your bad for not showing a little grace or courtesy.

I want to know what you all think of this...

Obviously Manning would be top of list for QB coach (If Gruden wouldn't just be the QB coach himself), but what about Ron Jaworski?

It didn’t with Ward. That was part of the fun. Watching chuck Wedd run into the end zone easily from 10 yds out turned into

“...handoff Webb. Rumbling stumbling falling into the end zone. Give Him Six! Touchdown big orange!”

It didn’t matter that ward was 30 seconds behind.

Great memories. I think the first time I heard him was for basketball and he was spectacular at that as well. Bottom. Guns, bang. Twinkles the twine etc.

I’m not comparing Butch to Gruden but coaching at College Level in the SEC and having not coached in 10 years, it’s unknown what he could do.

I’m all for the hire, it’ll bring plenty of top recruits here, I enjoy Gruden Camp and think he would be great but I am also level headed and think about the what if’s as well and just thought maybe a base of 10.2 would be stupid to do at first. It’s been brought to my attention that this was with incentives which is how it should be.

We’ve made a bunch of stupid decisions, WHAT if Gruden didn’t work and we paid the man 10 million, all I was saying.

I want Gruden and have not like Butch since year 2 and hope we get him

If I lived my life by being afraid of failure I would have never had half the adventures and crap I have been through. I'm glad to see someone at UT isn't afraid to take chances either.

Seriously, if other people spending their money trying to make something you love better disturbs you this much maybe you need to take up checkers..

And you still don't get it. Because you know nothing about the culture of this community (the Gruden community, not VolNation in general). You show that each time you post here.

No way. Maybe head of the audio visual team. Just because he is good at breaking down plays doesn’t mean he can teach, mentor and motivate young men.
