I would buy your opinion if you could state any sort of fact to back up why you dont think he ends up here. I'm not saying he ends up here with 100 percent certainty... but th ere are quite a few "grumors" that have a solid foundation. Not all of them... by far not all of them. There are certain things that line up and make it seem like there is a legit chance it happens. I'm not trying to be an ass to you but there really are things that point to Gruden being interested and taking the job under the right circumstances. Again, it isnt certain but all this smoke has some damn fire. Can you name some issues that point to your narrative being the right one? I'm not saying you are wrong... im just saying there are some legit things that point to Gruden being offered and NOT saying no. Being offered and not saying no is kind of a big thing.

I still don't think he ends up being the guy. Would I be happy with it if he is? Abso-freakin'-lutely.

Maybe Im jaded by the last 2 hires (under a different AD), but I'll have to see it to believe it.

DP comes in here, craps on Ergen by basically saying he's not interested in UT athletics or really giving more than a cursory donation to UT. Then goes to TOS and says that Ergen is mad about stuff cropping up on Vol Nation about him.

So the multi-billionaire doesn't care about UT athletics but apparently cares about Vol Nation. The guy who refused to give anything per DP to the new stadium renovations is calling to complain about VN threads to the UT Admin because they say he's actually giving heavily to UTAD. Oh, and his company just happens to court most of VN by trying to sell it a service. But he's upset if VN sees him a highly positive light.

This is a thread dedicated to Gruden being the number 1 coach hire. If you got nothing positive to post that will keep hope alive or this thread alive.... Just move on. Scroll thru all the current TN football threads and find one to your liking and feel free to post whatever you want. This thread is crystal clear devoted to our next coaching hire and let me stop you right there before you have a reply saying "well this thread is a discussion about which coaches we might get". If I were superstitious, I might attribute our ongoing mess to the “Curse of Johnny Majors” and I might suggest that Jon Gruden, a former disciple of Coach Majors, is the promised one who is prophesied to come and break said curse.

Curse of Johnny Majors? I don't think a curse involves winning two SEC championships and a national championship after the coach is fired.

If there were actually a "curse", it would be more associated with the firing of Fulmer.

I've remained in the camp of I'll believe it when the announcement comes, but it's really starting to pick up some steam now. There's just way too much pointing towards it happening. Matts, bubba, beaver, AV, Boro, DTO, OV are all bringing the same message and LWS, JAV, Chatta and others from TOS are starting to hear it too. VFLs and media are starting to talk about it as more of a possibility. I really believe it's happening.

Whoa hold up...Fulmer did JM so dirty and Yes Filmed did well but JM did as well and was treated horridly by UT.... I think thats what he meant by that post.

Key word here. A lot of us are open to skepticism if it's brought in the right fashion. Some aren't I know, but as I said, I'm open to all legit info, whether it fits the narrative or not.
