Ok, maybe I'm alone on this, but does Tee as OC for Gruden strike anyone else as underwhelming? I think he has benefited from excellent USC recruits, but his playcalling has been really disappointing to me.

I would welcome him back into the family and trust Gruden to have a great offensive system in place for Tee to choose from. I know it would make a lot of former players happy to see him back. Hell, most of them want him to be the head coach at some point.

"The rest of the list is: Gundy, Mullen, Brohm, Petrino"

Gundy - Not a significant upgrade, but a good coach

Mullen - Asterisk words in any post I do

Brohm - Who?

Petrino - About as much as I trust a snake. Good for keeping mice out, otherwise, don't turn your back on him

Trey Wallace:

"If JG wanted to put this to rest, he would have put it down over the past 4-5 weeks."

"Butch Jones is not coming back in 2018."

"They have a couple of coaches in their back pocket if they need them. Mullen is one of them."

"The rest of the list is: Gundy, Mullen, Brohm, Petrino"

That backup list is weak.

Probably because everyone decided early that they weren't taking "no" from Target Numero Uno. :)

to sum it up as a few have mentioned before, UT has thrown the kitchen sink at Gruden and the ball is in his court. If he wants to coach again (college) he will be here.

Isn't it considered unethical to contact a potential assistant in season about a job offer ? T. Martin is under contract at USC. I'm not saying/asking if it's illegal and maybe it happens frequently but it may be percieved as a distraction by the head coach and athletic dept. I know in the NFL you have to ask permission to talk to some assistants while the season is ongoing. Just asking.

It depends on the individuals contract. Jones for example, he has to tell his boss if he's contacted by another school, but he can talk to them. My guess, that's pretty standard.

And again, MIT said it was locked up on Gruden's side a while ago.

So we're looking at more absences from the SEC Championship then.

Coasty..just asking..not a judgemental question..is it better to be on an emotional roller coaster or to just pick a direction and proceed cautiously? I don't think you are unbalanced...but there are definitely some on here who are

Ya think? Lol

Folks, I made a serious mistake.

I wandered out of this thread and into the wastelands called the FF. First thread I came onto was "3 Getable Coaches."

Instantly regretted it.

I totally get the former player attraction. But from a coaching perspective, I don't see Tee and Gruden being a very dynamic combination.
