I think we all hoped his experience with coaching the OL would help our running game, but man....color me impressed in that first game.

Not only do defenses have to deal with confusion as to who has the ball coming out of the backfield with all the different options on any given play, but I saw more movement on the OL last Saturday than I think I EVER have on a UT squad.

A lot of seal blocks and at least two guys pulling on most running plays. Have to admit, it was a thing of beauty. If they keep this up all season, I'll gladly eat some crow. :)

Nuttin', I salute your integrity. Takes a lot to admit when you misjudged a man. Respect you for it. Go Vols!

This was great! ALMOST makes up for the other crap threads. For the usual suspects who'd utter "It's ONLY BGSU". I'd ask them to backtrack a few or 15 years and pinpoint WHICH team we've bulldozed in a power running fashion? Not Austin Peay...not UT Martin. Granted we may have two special backs in Hurd/Kamara but have little to no doubt Kelly could function with this dedication. Nuttin those gifs are intoxicating to any old Vol who's been pining for this kind of attack. :salute:

Little premature for crow eating. Lets see how the rest of the sesaon goes. But I like what I have seen so far from the run game.

Was it just me or was it hard as he!! to concentrate on one video lol
It's all about focus. It's all about relentless eye discipline. See a little-See a lot. It's all about taking Pride in your (Viewing) Performance. Our expectations here at VolNation are 63. Six seconds of viewing a gif, with great eye-strain and repeating that process 3 times. That's how we establish a culture that expects the Vols to win...Gif by Gif. GBO! :)

Yeah, because one game against a MAC team is enough to "serve crow".

That guy. SMDH at people who can't stand a positive post and must "wait and see" or "I'll wait till the end of the season to get excited". What a crappy way to live your life. No joy, no emotion, no commitment just an effort to suck the fun out of everyones fandom. :finger3:

Good job Nuttin. Those clips prove your point, without question!

I haven't (and won't spend the time either) checked the #'s, but I suspect that game was the best rush game. As a team we've had since we left option football.
Thanks for the post Nuttin

It's obvious the O-Line has improved tremendously even if it was against an MAC team. Like the OP said, there's more movement and it seems like they communicate with each other better. People on here who keep saying "wait and see", ya'll be better be happy the O-Line played the way they did cause if their D-Line lived in the backfield all game long, there would be a meltdown right now.

Not only are they pulling and getting out on their blocks, but their technique is flawless. Watch how when as soon as the make contact they rotate around to seal off the defender. That was NOT something this group was doing last year. Even against UTC we weren't able to do this and BGSU would steamroll them. If you aren't encouraged by that OL performance, you might should find another hobby.

Watching those reminded me of that juke run Kamara had where he slid, stopped, juked and kept running. One of the announcers tried to blow that off with " yeah backs do that all the time"

You mean backs like Barry Sanders :lolabove:

The OL has definitely improved with the time Coach DeBord has been with them. In addition, the WR Corps has really impressed me with their down field blocking also. We all know, a lot of WR's take plays off if it's "going the other way" or the ball isn't coming to them. This group debunks that myth and really takes pride in maintaining their blocks. There was only one holding penalty on the WR's and that says a lot.

There are two sides to the pendulum. His response about 'waiting to see' is actually in the middle of the path and quite rational. I doubt it was because he can't stand a positive post.

Having said that, If Tennessee beats Oklahoma, there is no need to 'wait and see' and all of you should blow the top off of VN because it's ON!!

Can we freakin' wait until our Offense shows up against a somebody instead of dropping 59 on a nobody? We dropped 52 against WKU in 2013. Our offense wasn't that great then.

Seriously, it's one game against a MAC team. If we drop 45+ on Oklahoma, I'll start agreeing with you.

Side-note: Is anyone surprised that Kamara was caught from behind? Thought he was one of the fastest guys on the squad.
