And I have no problem with Dooley calling out players....if a player sucks it up for a game, let him know

He doesn't insult our intelligence like, god love 'em, Phil use to do. He is straight forward when it comes to off-the-field actions, on-the-field play, recruiting, and transfers. He does not make excuses and will tell us why something is the way it is, because it seems that he knows the fans have a pretty good understanding anyhow! Keep it real and keep it high class, Dooley!!

...we need to be fair and see how our program progresses under his leadership. I think if he can survive the first 3-4 years, he will have a long coaching career at UT. He has character, is a strong leader, intelligent, good work ethic. I don't see how he can fail unless fans and administration don't support him.

Amazing that in less than a year on the job and only 4 games played, some are calling for his or assistants heads.
Spurrier is in his 6th year at USCjr and he has how many championships?? He is not even in the hot seat.
I guess there is something to be said for arrogance and self promotion.

I FOR ONE AM TIRED OF HIM CALLING OUT PLAYERS THRU THE MEDIA AND I AM TIRED OF HIM BLAMING EVERYTHING ON THE PLAYERS. HE NEEDS O SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OR HE WILL LOSE THIS TEAM. FULMER OR MAJORS NEVER ASCRIBED CONSTANT BLAME TO THE PLAYERS. I DON'T THINK ANY GOOD COACH HAS POINTED THE OTHER WAY SO OFTEN:finger3:.

Way overplayed. Call them all out that need it. There is something to be said about accountability. If the players dont like it, they may want to own up to their responsibilities and tcb so they wont get called out.

What are you, another fn 12 year old on here that thinks the world owes you something and not accountable for your actions?

Since you live in Alaska maybe you haven't heard much of what Dooley has said. Maybe you're only hearing what the media wants you to hear? Dooley has always taken the blame when he should have. It's time we had a coach who doesn't sugar coat everything. He's knows what he's doing. Just give him time.

I appreciate Coach Dooley's honesty. When he does call out players, he seems to usually point directly at what it is where the problem lies and it is something that they have been coached on and should be able to fix (tackling, effort, staying in the gap, catching a ball that hits their hands, throwing high to the back of the end zone, etc.). He also gives credit and praise where they are due. The players seem to make post-game assesments of their own efforts and shortcomings that are pretty similar to what the coach is saying, so they probably understand where he is coming from and accept the responsibility for their lack of effort and to try harder.

I like this group of coaches and I really, really hope they succeed here.

Then all we will have to worry about is other schools trying to poach them away from us. :eek:hmy:

I honestly believe Dooley is here to bring stability to the program. I don't think the AD department expects him to bring UT back to the top.

I don't think the AD will be here long enough to see UT back at the top. :twocents:

Kiffin was a joke and I told it on here all along the way until I got banned for being right.

Dooley will do fine. He has a big problem with only having about 70 kids left from the napalming Lil Layne did. Lil Layne inherited a program that was one year removed from the SEC Title game, had 8 NFL players listed in the mock drafts before last season (they screwed 1 out of it and the 8th came back), they ended up with the third or so most kids drafted in America, a full compliment of scholarships and a recruiting class ranked in the top 5 by Rivals with two silent 5 star commits. He left a program down by almost 40 kids, a bad class recruited with very small players, several arrested and gone and a weak 5 star RB that is gone. He left a laughingstock. He left a mess. Dooley needs time to get it back and it will take in the range of 10 years just to have an 8 win season.

Surely you're not saying UT = USCe

It won't take 10 years to win 8 games in a season.

I like all of it except singling out players.

He's good with a camera and mike.

Dooley gives very constructive criticism as many have pointed out. If the comments were destructive, I'd be right with you. I have watched every press conference and post practice interview because I know I'm getting information rather than clichés and bull. Dooley is setting up a culture of accountability and I love it. Give it a couple years.

PLEASE DON'T USE ALL CAPS IN YOUR POSTS!!!!!!

loved Kiffin and hate him now, Felt like Dooley was the wrong hire and still do. DD seems like a great guy and I hope he does well but I have a strong feeling that one way or another we will be on the coaching search again in about 3 years.
