Official Hawks Thread

Horf is out 3-4 months. That's a huge blow. Not sure this team can even make the playoffs with Twin or Zaza starting at center.

Should be some good old fashioned Atlanta Hawk basketball the rest of the season. Alwas the one player the Hawks could afford to lose.

Time for Ivan Johnson to lead us to the playoffs.

I just can't see it either. I don't think those guys can combine for a 15 and 10 every night.

That really sucks. Especially since the only truly established teams in the East for the time being are the Heat and Balls. Hawks might have been next in line. Not sure their bench is anything special but Teague - Johnson - Williams - Smith - Horford is a really good starting lineup.

Edit: Oops haha

Amazingly, they look ok. If anything, Smith and JJ are flourishing with Teague and Horford not on the floor.

Doing work against the Hornets tonight. Man their arena looks dead. Entire rows right behind the benches are empty.

Pacers coming to Atlanta tonight.

Two of the better teams in east.

I hate the Hawks, just so you guys know. They're the reason I can't ever get any Grizzlies coverage in Knoxville :cray:

I feel ya. Most of my teams aren't televised where I reside. I end up watching them online. Actually just bought a new big screen and a parts to build a new computer that will allow me to stream my games on TV. I already could but the quality wasn't great. Building this specifically for being able to watch games and other shows on my tv instead of a computer monitor.

Hinrich was cold blooded last night. Wish Teague hadn't gotten in foul trouble haha

They're an outmanned, sinking ship. But, man, Josh Smith played out of his mind last night.

. . . and now he wants to be traded. Can't say that I blame him. I'd get sick of watching Joe Johnson suck the life out of my team too.

I don't blame josh either. The hawks probably can't resign him if they want to stay under the luxury tax. I wonder which team will exploit the asg in a trade for josh?

I like Josh, but I have to wonder if his effort this season is to try to get traded. I certainly couldn't blame him if it is.

Watching this team try so hard without the highest paid NBA player on the floor is bittersweet.

I'm about ready to blow it up and try to build around Teague.

Was there anybody that thought hamstringing the franchise and giving Joe Johnson a max contract was going to work out? They were so afraid they were going to backup a little that they mortgaged the future. It never really occurred to them that in the scheme of things, being the 3-4 seed and being the 7-8 seed doesn't matter.

. . . and Marvin Williams should donate his salary to an orphanage or something. He's a #2 overall pick and he might as well be invisible.

Not sure if you caught this back in December, but even though it's pretty long, it's definitely worth reading for any Hawks fan who would like to understand to rationale of Hawks ownership.Atlanta Hawks: Michael Gearon Jr. Q-and-A | Atlanta Hawks

I had hoped that this season would be a fresh start for Marvin, especially having had back surgery done on the offseason. But if we wanted a guy for Marvin's role, we should have kept Damien Wilkins, imo. Sure Damien's a little shorter, but Marvin plays shorter than he is by hunching over so much.
