Official Hawks Thread

You're right it does suck to lose to such a pathetic franchise and then read ignorant comments from an ignorant fanbase. That's ok in four games this thread will be as dead as a hawk regular season game. Hawks better take advantage of the room service in Chicago.

Really go to an Orlando board? A hawk fan saying that on a vol board is kind of hypocritical don't you think? I'm not on a hawk board chief.

Regarding Dwight and his game, he is developing a mid range game to open up his post and driving opportunities. He does have quick feet and to say he only uses his body makes it sound like you have jealousy issues. The guy plays the game right, doesn't flop and is just that much stronger than everyone else. The only people who claim Dwight is dirty are the same people whacking him in the head, fouling him hard holding him down and trying to aggravate him. Yeah he's dirty and you're an idiot. I'm not mad you don't like Dwight. I'm mad you are making sh$t up and claiming someone who goes through the same bs as the hawks tried to deal( like cowards) is a dirty player. Get over yourself and go enjoy the 4 game beating you're about to endure.

Like a villain in a bad horror flick, the Atlanta Spirit rises again. The deal to sell the Hawks just fell through.

With the signing of tmac im supporting the hawks for at least one year. Im excited to see what teague will do now that he's the number one at point.

Hawks off to a good start this season... I think this team is better than Boston and Chicago. Miami is going to be tough!

We shall see. I still think Chicago is the team to beat. We still have some question marks but you are right, off to a good start vs. teams we should beat.

Not a Hawks fan, but the block that Josh Smith had on John Wall's dunk attempt was one of the most beautiful things I have seen in basketball in a while.

I just hope the guys mesh well together and that Teague and Hinrinch can play the well, especially against the top notch PGs in the east like Rondo, Rose and Williams.

If T-Mac can average 10 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists I will be happpy! I would really like to see JJ average about 16 points and Horford in the double doube (12 and 10) a game range. J-Smooth getting about 2-3 blocks and about 10-15 points a game. The guys are preaching defense and if they continue to run, hustle and play D, they can beat Chicago in a series. They played them tough last year.

The Hawks are not good enough to take nights off and need to win these gimmes. In this short season, they have a chance to do something in the playoffs. They are young and hopefully will peak at the right time. But still, the Heat will be a tough division opponet and probably the fav in the East.

Anyways, enough with my ramble

Josh Smith is talented... Just needs to bring it every night to get to that All Star level. He was a beast last year in the playoffs!

Josh Smith is one of the most underrated players in the game. If you watch him every night...He is just fantastic.

He's really good and up there in the category of elite athletic players. My only problem with him was during the playoffs when he was taking all of those crappy jump shots. He seems to dominate when he attacks the basket and take shots in the paint. He needs to layoff the jump shots though. That or spend extra time in the gym working on it. Just seemed like he'd make a great play in the playoffs and then come back and make any even worse play by taking a horrible jump shot that hurt the team more than it helped.

I thought the same thing. It will be interesting to see what McGrady can give us. If he can just knock down that intermediate shot, that would be a plus.

No joke. Athletic enough to hang with them.

Can they make it two in a row against the East's best two teams?
