Official Hawks Thread

It's definitely not good to lose Johnson, but what it's going to do is allow Drew to finally run his offense through Al Horford as he has wanted to do all along.

got the heat tonight, we always have problems with them, so I hope tonight we can smack them down...

Hate to admit it, but when the Hawks called timeout in the 4th down by 13 last night, I gave up and switched to football.

What a game by Josh Smith the other night. Dang he can make you so mad and the other night as he took a long jumper I went noooo-------yes!

Hawks could use a veteran point guard.

Mike Bibby says hi.

LOL, I like Bibbs, he is one of the premier long range shooters in the NBA. That being said he is no longer a pg, he needs to come off the bench. He does not penetrate like he did in Sacramento, just doesnt have that speed anymore.

You think the Hawks had a little trouble getting up for the game last night? 3 days after winnining in Miami they come home and lose to the Hornets by 43?!?!

Ever seen the clock stop 3 times in the last 5 seconds of a basketball game? Hawks were down 1 and there was a jump ball called at 4.3 to go. They won the jump ball and the Clippers had a foul to give which they committed at 3.2 to go. Then on the inbound play Al Horford went to the rim and got power slammed by Blake Griffin for a flagrant foul at .6. Two free throws later the Hawks were in bounding the ball up 1.

That was one of the weirder games I've seen in awhile, all the way around. How about Jamal Crawford in the 3rd quarter?

He was sort of hot wasn't he? :)

He might be about the biggest scoring threat I've ever seen coming off the bench.

You got your wish.

You got your wish.

I realize this is a defensive upgrade, and Hinrich is a solid player, but I hate being reminded that the Hawks are owned by the Spirit group.

I hate the Spirit group.

Haven't looked into it, but this has to a payroll move as much as anything.

Kincade implying that Spirit group are selling franchises, or at least taking on a partner with some cash. I hope this is true.

None of them are filthy rich enough to compete. Are they still battling with Belkin in Maryland?
I think the Belkin buyout is done. Now they are suing the law firm claiming they botched the whole thing and devalued the franchise. I think the Thrashers are as good as gone.

Just read where new ownership for the Hawks, Thrashers and Philips Arena seems to be taking shape and the Thrashers might be safe after all. Who knows?

who is buying them? Tell me it's someone with deep pockets. not just a new investor to keep the status quo.

Quality effort from the hawks tonight.

Deng and rose outscoring them goin into the 4th quarter.

Please, someone rich buy this lousy franchise

Holy shnikes!? I just happened to turn it on and it took me a minute to do the math and figure out the differential. The Hawks have to get sold and then hire a coach who's not in over his head and for God's sake go sign an actual center.
