Official Hawks Thread

That's what i was thinking. Just someone that's a true center that can defend the position, not saying Horford didn't do a good job, but Howard had his way.

The Hawks have a good core, but I agree they need to let go of JJ. Sign and trade him is the best possible move.
Mike Wilbon said it best: The Hawks have a bunch of pieces that are good/great individually that just don't seem to mesh. I guess I don't see the harm in trying out a new coach and getting better post presence for the next season, but I just don't see this group getting off the ground, let alone getting around Orlando or Boston in the East (with the exception of an injury plague for the C's).

I think it's still a little early to know who we're targeting. A lot of deals go down right around or after the draft. Depending on who gets those top picks, it's a possibility we could sign and trade Joe for a late lottery pick (7-14 range) and decent role player.

That is the best case scenario. I'm still not sure what ASG is planning. Something tells me they'll und up keeping everyone and just revamping the end of the bench. I hope i'm wrong though.

Haha..Just came to post the same thing. I actually liked Woodson, but I think it was time for a change.

I like Avery for the simple fact that he can fire these guys up. He's a decent X and O coach as well.

As long as they don't hire Dwayne Casey like many are predicting, i'll be fine. That guy is Mike Woodson v2.0.

From what i've been hearing it's down to Avery and Casey. I'm hoping for Avery just because he's the better option of the 2.

Unless there's a dark horse we don't know about, looks like it's gonna be Casey or maybe Hawks assistant Drew. Nothing to get excited about lol.

Hiring Drew is the Hawks way of saying "We like our personnel and makeup. We've just been thinking our head coach sucks for the past 3 years or so."

Lol, pretty much. Drew will move them away from the iso Joe offense which is a great thing. This is also a step in the right direction if they want to resign Joe.
