Okay.

Wait... what does party leader have to do with it? I thought it was averaged out among everyone. Crap... that's why my usual team picks up high numbered players because the usual leader is highly ranked...

You get an EXP point each time you "win" a match. In single (like Lone Wolf) you have to have the top number of kills. In team slayer if your team wins, everyone on the team gets that EXP point.

The skill system has to do with how you do against other similarly skilled opponents.

If you have a party of 4 with skill levels of 10, 20, 30, & 40 chances are you're not gonna find a match since you are all separated by several levels. Party leader has nothing to do with it.

In Lone Wolves you have to come in the top 3 to get an EXP.

I could've sworn that the slayer adjusted to the party leader's EXP first and foremost and then if it couldn't find a game there, it expanded.

Nope. If there's a party of 10, 20, 30, & 40, it's going to search for a party of the same or as close to it as possible.
That's why it's near impossible to find a game when you & your party are far apart. If you're all between 20-25 you should find a game really quick. Party leader has nothing at all to do with finding a game as far as skill goes.
