Official Guitar Hero 3 Thread

The team is most excited about Guitar Battle mode, which takes the Pro Battle mode from Guitar Hero II and cranks it to 11 with a variety of wicked, game-changing power-ups. Overload your opponent's amp to make their fretboard wobble and become unreadable. Interrupt their mojo by breaking one of their strings, forcing them to rapidly pound on the right fret button until it snaps back into place. In the cruelest twist of all, you can flip their guitar from righty to lefty (or vice versa), turning the fretboard upside down to completely change the layout of the notes. Good luck wrapping your fingers around that.

That sounds crazy! I hope it doesn't take the fun outta it.

Going off about MTV:

I hate that they are getting involved with this. They represent all that is wrong with music today. They better freakin tread lightly. :finger3:

I'm just glad it's being released for the PS2.

word! Is it just me, or do the PS2 guitars seem better made than the 360 ones?? I have buttons stick on me when I play the 360 version of the game. The PS2 ones feel more responsive to me.

I haven't played the PS2 guitar, but the few people I know that have played both have preferred the 360. They've said they have noticed delays when using the PS2 guitar, but that's just what I have heard.

Reading that article, it sounds like the guitar from GH2 won't be compatible for GH3...that really sucks to have to shell out 100 bucks or more every time a new version of the game comes out...

GH3 and Rock Band....shaping up to be the most expensive games ever.

I like the idea of full album downloads with Rock Band. Can't imagine how expensive those will be.

I'll probably end up with both. Gotta have the drums.

GH2 guitars would with GH3.

Metallica, AC/DC, and LZ are must-haves. These bands would be stupid not to jump on board this gravy train!

There is no way they could make the Xplorer not compatible. I will not buy a whole new guitar. Plus you can play GH 2 with the regular controller if you want. So i dont see this happening.

Hell yes......I wished it and hopefully this is true. I have been saying that i hope to god there are two of my favorite songs on the new GH3. And i think i may have lucked out. 'One' by Metallica and "Rock you like a Hurricane' by Scorpions has been confirmed.

"Reptilia" – The Strokes

LOL. Some dude at work tried telling me that GH3 was cancelled for the XBOX360, he referenced a GameStop employee and lack of GH2 sales. What a freaking idiot... and he just got his box yesterday.

Thought I would pass that along. BTW - I never believe anything he says.
