Official GTA IV Thread

For all of you people enjoying your copies of GTA IV for 360s and PS3s, I'd just like to let you know that Amazon informed me that they shipped my copy of San Andreas, and I'll soon be enjoying it on my good old-fashioned XBox.

Stop laughing, it's new to me:)

I know, right?! Online play is hilarious.

My best strategy so far is to mow them over with my car, hen jump out and mop up with the firearm.

Until they fix the crosshair crap, i prefer auto aim games.
If you see me online, hit me up Swil. We will play.

It's because the driving is much more difficult, IMO. That camera is problematic, to say the least.

Yeah, the driving controls have been overhauled. I like the new way- much more challenging. I really like how every single car drives very differently.

Go easy on that hand brake!! :)

I throughly enjoyed San Andreas. At this point I actually enjoyed it jsut a touch more than GTA IV but I am not that far i don't believe in the new one.

I enjoyed III and Vice City. They aren't perfect, but they are very good, and VC was incrementally better than III. It is a nice series, and you can almost feel the programmers growing with the technology.

In "quest" type strategy/action FPS games, the series rates above KotR, and Halo II is a distant third (I did not play it online.)

I'm stuck on Three Leaf Clover right now, it's fun, just wish I didn't have to drive so far away to get there.

EDIT: *lots of cuss words!!!* I just died at the very end....

Finally, after about 20 tries, I beat that stupid mission. The payout was nice and I like that I've got all of the islands now.

What I don't like, is that you don't get the story behind how the bridges open up like you did in the other games.

Have any of you actually watched a few minutes of the TV that is in your apartment at the beginning of the game?

Some of that is hillarious.

Just started on it yesterday, so not as far along as you guys....but it is a blast.

i watched a minute or two the other night, but it was just two guys sitting there. didnt really do anything funny. maybe i didnt watch long enough.

Yeah some of it is stupid....I had to flip around a little bit and there was a No Limit Hold'em tourney on ....it was hilarious.

yeah- nades are a must on Three Leaf Clover. I was chunking them like parade candy.

I beat 'Three Leaf Clover' on my second try & I never used a single grenade. My rifle was all I needed.
