Figured I would bump this up to see if anyone was considering it since it's out soon. Need to get set up for some online battles.

Game looks wonderful as long as it is not insanely hard sometimes when things get to realistic it's not fun

This game is the only reason I've layed a hand on a game controller in months. I got a chance to play it for a while... I know this sounds like an uninformed statement, but I don't see how this game, with all its nuances doesn't have the best physics engine ever devised in a video game. Feels better than ever.

And for all of those who had pointless complaints of Gran Turismo not having a damage model, I hear Polyphony is going to release one as an upgrade.

is it possible to just take a car and win without having to do the whole setup for each track and all?

Yes, if you can adapt your driving to it.

However, taking the time to properly tune your car to the track your driving on will give you a great leg up. A great part about the game.

On a side note, there was a wheel developed in junction with the game, which will allow you to adjust settings like TCS on the fly. You can do that with the PS3 controller, as well. Sick, sick, sick either way.

The would be the Logitech Driving Force GT. However, it's basically a castrated version of the Logitech G25, which is simply the best racing wheel you can buy. It's absolutely phenomenal. It's rather expensive, but if you're going to buy a quality wheel, you might as well get the best. I'm basically gonna buy a PS3 and a G25 just for GT5. Obviously an HDTV too just to complete the package. I can't express how much I'm looking forward to it.

I believe the online is going to support 15-16 players per race. I have played all the GT's and they are unreal. I downloaded the demo and it is crisp for sure. Are you guys going to race online any at all? I know the career is more than enought to keep a man busy tho.

Milo, I agree about the physics engine on this game. Could be the best ever.

Makes a big difference..especially online racing...picked mine up when I got NASCAR and you have to be smooth through the turns or you'll get left behind bigtime.

I saw the one that was $149 from Logitech. That wheel looks nice, but way out of my price range. You control the gas and brake on the wheel on most of them, right?

I've got the 360 wheel..it has foot pedals for the gas and brake...you can change gears with the levers attached to the wheel though.
