i wasn't referring to the potential gruden staff here, as much as i was the staff currently at TN. i know his staff wouldn't have to be announced at the same time. just going off what gruden has said publicly about talking openings/candidates, when there's still a coach, and any part of a season left to be played.

I think a lot of people are burned out and I suspect there are members of the media that are tired of fielding the questions. Especially if the AD is being tight lipped and there really isn't much flow of information. I'd get tired of being asked questions I don't have the answers to as well.

Maybe that is the play from the AD. Get everyone to move on, look at other choices, then.....BOOM! Gruden to the Hill.

Then again, maybe not.

Another thing that's already been stated 1000 times (what harm can be done by 1001) is that there is no way we will have a big recruiting weekend without letting the recruits and their families know something pretty specific. If they are told something pretty specific, there is no way the AD would expect the information to remain secret. All of this leads me to conclude that something will be known by Sat. night. If not a 100% confirmation, at least a 90% confirmation with a wink and a nod.

It's not just that Gruden said that, it's also pretty rare for a coach to be named before the end of the season regardless. I'm struggling to think of the last time... maybe the Charlie Strong thing? Either way, most ADs don't announce before the season is over, but Sunday and Tuesday could be very interesting. One way or the other, in about a week we are going to know where we stand.

The funny thing is, there are plenty of folks in here who don’t buy in to all this, but enjoy the entertainment.

They just don’t stand up on the table and shout to everyone how stupid they all are.

is there a possibility that Currie knew even EARLIER than anyone now thinks that a plan was in motion and Gruden would be the UT coach in 2018 ?
