Good freaking grief. UCF had one down season before Frost showed up. The year before that they were conference co-champs and the year before that they were in the Fiesta Bowl. Frost walked into a very good group of 5 program. Frost may be very good but he's nowhere near a lock and his name is not going to make 5* prospects take notice.

Exact point I've tried to make. Not like he's at a school that's never had success. O'Leary had a 12-1 season and several other 10+ win seasons. It's not like he's doing anything tons of other new Coach's have done their first 2 years. It's gonna take more than 1 winning season for me to say he's a top tier coach. Right now nobody knows either way

Why does Chip Kelly to Florida rumors seem like it's doable and that their fans aren't crazy to think that, but Gruden to Tennessee rumors get all kinds of negative response from UT fans and media. Florida athletics flew up north to Chip Kelly and they had people watching the airport scene to see if Chip would get off the plane. Sounds familiar. Kind of just like some of our own watching to see if Gruden got off the plane with our power players, but the media had 2 different responses to those situations. Both guys have expressed interest in their respective schools, again 2 different responses. I wonder if the gators forums have similar threads and posts that say "Chip ain't coming to UF". I don't understand how the same situation is taking place here and there and the coverage and response have to different outcomes, Kelly to Florida-positive. Gruden to Tennessee-negative

Well, Chip Kelly has coached both an NFL and College Team in the past decade and explicitly stated he is interested in coaching again.

Sometime, its the obvious explanation. Love to get Gruden, and I haven't written it off, but lets be reasonable about why it seems preposterous to some people compared to Chip Kelly to FL.

Football wise thats understandable. I am too.

Having "embarrassing" fans (on the Gruden deal) and living in Bama (of all places) shouldn't be a worry.

UT doesn't corner the market on that in any way.

And I think Gruden is still the first target.

Frost won a NC, played in NFL 6 years. Butch played trumpet in marching band

Don't think winning a NC as a player and a mediocre at best NFL career guarantee's a guy will be a great HC. Saban never won a NC or played in the NFL..
