Morning fellow Grudemaniacs!!!

Well, as I said a few days ago, my Grudometer was at 50% for the next 24-48 hours. The ball is in Jon's court to accept. I'm sure a timeframe was given because UT simply cannot wait ad nauseum for a decision. Since I know that the recruits this weekend will know who the new coach will be, I logically concluded that the timeframe had to be sometime yesterday.

Well, no "thanks, but no thanks" out of Gruden camp.

Therefore, I am officially announcing my new Grudometer reading:

75% !!!

Not being argumentative, but how do you know the recruits coming in this weekend know/will know who our "new" coach is?

AV mentioned $ not being the ultimate deciding factor for our coaching situation. Someone posted this earlier and I appreciate seeing this. Could this be the part AV eludes to? The plan beyond the plan? And going back to MIT Beaver, is this what Peyton ultimately gives to make the deal happen? Hmmmm....it’s all guessing and deducing, but it does make some sense!

Report: Browns are very serious about Peyton Manning

Sooooo.....Gruden is coaching the Browns next year?

According to Swain's cohost, John Currie has a history of these smokescreens when hiring at Kansas State in football and basketball. Was discussed with a reporter in Kansas City recently. Similar to the baseball hire here.

I don't think he has ever made a football hire. Snyder has been at KSU since football was invented lol. In basketball I believe he has only made one hire and that was Bruce Weber.

Pretty simple to me at this point.

If Currie doesn't have Gruden wrapped up, and has let this fan base simmer in the pool of Gruden, he is doing a HUGE disservice to the incoming coach.

I can't believe he's that deaf to the grumors. I just can't.

That's why I'm 100% Gruden.

That makes sense, in theory. Just don't know who fits that description? Who would we be more excited about than Gruden? For me, that's a pretty short list and none of them seem remotely possible. Saban, Meyer, Tomlin, Belichick, Stoops. Who exactly are you thinking is in that category?

To me, there are 2 scenarios:

1. It's Gruden. It's done. It's a matter of timing (I believe this to be true)
2. Currie is incompetent and letting this Gruden mania keep growing is going to bite him in the butt and make his hire seem underwhelming.

My first two initial thoughts would be Saban and Belichick...I know that is unrealistic, but you never should say never...just my two-cents

It’s real simple. Currie would have denied Gruden already. Even if there was potential, he would announce, we are working hard. Fact, Gruden is not only a done deal, it has been done.

Do you work for the department of redundancy department?

Tuesday said that he was stepping away so as to decrease the heat directed at Tee. I was here when he vetted himself as knowing Tee personally, I think he was legit. Your mileage may vary.

I believe that a lot of people on sites like this, are jealous or do not understand that most of these football players come from all over and have friends they made either before they were these great football players, or made them through work relations outside of football.

I have done both not saying at all I am a insider or get special info. You meet acquaintances or friends in many ways in life, and some people shoot that down as impossible.
