Wow....and can’t repeat that last sentence enough, although it seems more and more have forgotten.

Agreed. My grandfather was such a kind and caring man. Only in his later years did we ever talk in earnest of the war. That generation were such a treasure and are greatly missed.

Sorry for the off topic—Gruden to the Hill!

Assuming no Gruden this is not a bad list except for Norvell(please for everything holy do not get that far down the list)

I'm not the AD but I would pursue

Scott Frost
Dan Mullen
Willie Taggart

In that order. We could have a better shot at Frost than a lot think. I had written him off to Nebraska but Currie is big on him from what I hear. Kink may be UCLA job opening and Kelly is said to have called that the "job he would most like if it were open" earlier this year. I assumed Kelly to UF was a done deal but not so sure that is still the case. Frost may see UF as a better job than UT. Not sure Nebraska will win a bidding war to hire him right now.

Would love to see Gruden but since that ship has sailed imo there are good hires to be made. I just hope we don't screw this one up. I choose to have faith in Currie until proven otherwise.

would you please start your own thread and call it "i want UT football to forever suck thread"

Didn’t Atlanta out in bold type that he rarely stays in the skybox for the whole game? Something to that effect.

I would have to go back to the post, but I don't find it super important. I think he has access to terrace/box seats but also keeps the seats that he grew sitting in with his father and prefers to be in those. I agree with him. If given the choice between skybox and in the stands for a big game I will choose being out in the noise every time. The box is great for conducting business and socializing, but not if you're there purely for the football.

I mean I’m all Grude, but if that didn’t happen...Kelly, Peterson, Fisher would be just fine as well. I’ve always been really high on Peterson. Look at what he’s done at Boise St. and Washington. Both were irrelevant before he got there.

Boise was good before Peterson got the job. Dan Hawkins really started their rise then Peterson just built on it and made them even more relevant. Definitely would be a HR type Hire if Gruden fell through but think Jon is our next HC. Not sure Peterson will leave the left coast either. He's a West Coast guy.

Ah that would explain it. I live in Bristol and sadly we don't have the greatest sports radio. Actually, we don't have a sports radio. We have ESPN Tri Cities, but it kinda sucks. Thanks for the info!

You need to put the “Fox Sports Knoxville” app on your phone. Or use the Tunein radio app and look it up there. You’re missin out!

your not missing anything. 99.1 pretty much suxs

I was at UT from 08-12 and I hated The Sports Animal. I would always listen to TNSports Radio. Typically would go into classes listening to Ainge, then Swain and Rucker-but once Rucker stopped I got tired of Swain's wishy washy self and stopped listening-and I would occasionally listen to Basilio. I was never a Tony fan, I just thought his show was always comical.

I still say.... How do we get to this point with no answers? You cant tell me that Gruden and the boys anint been working on this for the last 5 years! That beening said... Its done... It has to be!

I've also thought that the gears of the machine might have started to turn a long time ago. I've never been a Butch Jones fan and I think he would have been a failure this year no matter what; however, is it possible that he was set up to fail this year in a spectacularly miserable way so that there would be absolutely no other choice except to part ways with him? The Larry Scott hire as offensive coordinator is the most glaring example that might indicate that this was all part of a greater plan. Does anyone know if Butch Jones was financially constrained so that he had to promote someone from within the program instead of hiring a high quality coordinator from outside?
