Not disagreeing with you but why would he not open up his profile to spread the message as far and as fast as possible?

I would suggest the message is out as far and wide as it can be, without the need for his Twitter account to be public. The crazies of VolNation alone would probably clog his account permanently if it was public.

If Gruden announced today, we’d be clamoring for him to start wooing Kirby’s recruits tomorrow. But that seems foolish given the fact that Gruden has fostered more good will from fellow coaches than perhaps anyone else in football. Imagine the cover story of AJC reading:

“Legendary coach, Jon Gruden, introduces himself to the SEC by stealing last-minute recruit from Kirby.”

That might work for Kiffin, but not Gruden. He’ll handle his introduction with the utmost respect for his future rivals. No sh%t-talking. No late-hour living room visits. To do this, the announcement will need to be as late as possible, but not so late that he loses recruits. My guess is that around December 11th we’ll get the first solid reports that he’s been hired, followed by an announcement on the 18th.

LOL thinking Gruden would be polite and not steal a recruit. Hahaha

Not at all. I think Gruden will be ferocious once he takes the job. He’ll gladly trade negative press for victories. On deciding when to take the job, however, I think he’ll push for the latest reasonable date. And I think his image and reputation will play a role in that decision.

I want your opinion, no BS. What do you think is going to happen? Who do you think is going to be our next coach?

My OPINION - and don't get confused, this is PURE OPINION - is that CJG is real close to saying yes.

I think the narrative is pretty believable (a small mountain of click-bait trolls aside), and that announcement time is a residual decision to be made.

I believe we have a good shot, if it isn't done already. (I have some issue with the "done already" part based on the TPRA and access to "contracts, including those in draft form only." (Although I've previously stated records requests can be easily thwarted).

There has been nothing definitive up to this point either way. For every point indicating its not Gruden, there's been counterpoint saying it is Gruden. Ultimately, it comes down to faith. To that end, I believe.

And, I won't be upset that I was wrong, even if I am upset in our choice of coach. There's enough smoke to form a rational belief. No shame in believing.

Agreed. Also his posts are extremely articulate & deal with subjects which are beyond the thinking of most here or anywhere, myself included. I have listened to enough of Fox sports radio to be confident that no one locally outside of Clay Travis who is national are on that level of thinking

Which should suggest to you that his mission might be bigger than just securing a single football coach. It might even extend to the environment in which that coach operates in the future.

I think it's beav's intention to start a Mullen riot. He wants the voice of VN heard.

If he believes Gruden is a done deal, we don't need a Mullen riot. Sounds more like he is trying to discredit the local media to me - perhaps insinuating that they are making a lot of stuff up.

If you guys think sending childishly threatening tweets from a protected account to 1,200 followers does anything remotely to the UT power structure, I've got a bridge in Idaho I'd like to sell you.

The one thing that has me confident that Gruden is the candidate, is the lack of rumors from Tennessee insiders suggesting any other coach is a candidate. The only mentions from people who could possibly know are about Gruden, and then a second possible backup plan.

What is reported is the various fan and media personalities speculating and providing their OPINIONS on the candidates that SHOULD be considered, and why. No one in the Media is reporting that these candidates actually have been contacted or interviewed for the Tennessee position.

Now think about this. How many articles have been published regarding the Florida Football search? Various Media sites are on the record saying that Florida has actually contacted Frost, Kelly, and Strong. Why aren't these same media sources stating that Tennessee has contacted only of these same candidates, or others. If Tennessee was contacting other candidates there would be news about it in some form or another, outside of forums.

In regards to the Mullen rumors: read this Paragraph:

"Paul Finebaum and Nick Saban are both represented by the same powerful sports agency, CAA. Finebaum’s agent, Nick Kahn, and Saban’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, often work together. Surely someone will wonder, ‘ is this Sexton planting an item with one client, in hopes of getting more money for another client?’"

ref:
Nick Saban Has Had a Contract Extension on His Desk For Six Days Now, Paul Finebaum Reports [UPDATE] | The Big Lead

Think about this. CAA is known to leverage their "talent" to generate speculation and value for coaches they represent.

Lets Start with this:

Dennis Dodd's article about Sexton.

Man behind the money - CBSSports.com

Dodd pumps up Mullen.

It's time for Dan Mullen to embrace his moment and leave Mississippi State - CBSSports.com

Dodd throws Shade about Tennessee and Gruden:

Tennessee has serious concerns about Jon Gruden as a coaching candidate - CBSSports.com

Feinbaum on Mullen

If you cant see that CAA, i.e. Sexton isn't putting out a coordinated effort to get their guys better contracts at the expense of the Tennessee coaching search then you are absolutely blind.

Gruden is the guy until he turns us down. Period.

Fantastic post

Sure it is. He hasn’t been positive in a while just having Twitter battles with people and saying Empty Neyland was a movement when it was never more than a horrible idea

When we have a coach named then you may be correct. I still don’t think so.

And if we hire a less than “explosive” coach, empty Neyland will be more successful.

I don’t understand the hang up on Beaver. If you don’t like him or his posts then ignore them. I for one enjoy them. I’d actually like to weed out most of the rest of you and only read Beaver and Atlanta Vols with one or two others. So if you don’t wanna read what he is writing then don’t. That simple. But he wants Gruden and so do I. So we are on the same page. It’s your/my own fault if we let ourselves be deceived to the point it affects us that badly. Most of y’all are the reason it takes so long to sift thru this mountain of $**# anyway. Nobody wants to read any of your crap either but we wade thru rivers of it everyday to get to the stuff that really matters.
I gave you 1 like just for pure honesty but I gave you a -1 for adding a post a had to wade through to get to info I wanted to see 😉
