Official Gruden Thread 39

Guys, I was one of the very first if not THE first MIT skeptics. But I think those interpreting his recent tweets as having to do with whether or not a Gruden hire happens are off base. I think it has to do with setting the stage for how our program is going to be run in the future. For one example, how much influence are people like Jimmy Sexton going to have to leverage our University against a fat raise (and commission) for Sexton clients?

IMO, MIT's recent tweets have nothing to do with us getting Gruden and everything to do with completely resetting our university's power structure.

So, the only fact you have is that someone with some alleged connection to the AD said something? And, you yourself acknowledge that the veracity of that information is in question? And yet, you want us to completely disregard our discussion based on the gospel of CladInOrange? Can you see how completely irrational that is?

"Not one of those things mentioned are facts." Here again, that's, like, your opinion, dude. If you can't even independently confirm the information you are receiving, why should anyone believe one story over the other?

Your argument is weak. You expect people on a message board to have faith in you for no reason at all. That is straight-up irrational.

And, to your ad hominem attacks, I have nothing to prove to you. Maybe I won't be here, what does that have to do with anything. Its a complete non-sequitur. How does that boost your credibility? It doesn't. If anything, it further proves your lack of critical thinking prowess.

I want your opinion, no BS. What do you think is going to happen? Who do you think is going to be our next coach?

Just a thought......it was originally reported that Gruden was given a deadline to make a decision by. Has anyone ever thought that maybe he didn't answer and that is why we are starting to hear other names? We maybe had to move on from him if he wasn't going to give an answer.

I don't buy that we gave him a deadline.

Not disagreeing with you but why would he not open up his profile to spread the message as far and as fast as possible?

It didn't fail at all really. There were 35000+ empty seats even with a massive ticket giveaway that rivals the Lady Vol basketball giveaways to set attendance records. Plus, as you pointed out, it was a loud shot across the bow of the UTAD that the consumer is fed up.

Pretty dang good turnout for a base hugely pissed off.

I was there with my daughter and her buddy. I chose to go to this game because I thought it wouldn't be too crowded. (My 19 year old daughter can't handle crowds and loud noises). It was filling up in the 2nd quarter and getting too loud. She was begging to leave so we did. I was impressed with the turnout and happy for the boys who deserved it.

But yeah, the bigwigs got the message. Are they doing something about it? I think they are. :)

Agreed. Also his posts are extremely articulate & deal with subjects which are beyond the thinking of most here or anywhere, myself included. I have listened to enough of Fox sports radio to be confident that no one locally outside of Clay Travis who is national are on that level of thinking
