I made a few jumps with buddies in the groups. Their version of a JMPI was a Jedi hand-wave over the jumper from a few feet away, then a thumbs-up.

French Army was the same, come to think of it. American buddy and I decided we would JMPI each other's gear after the French all-is-groovy-wave ... and my buddy wasn't even a JM.

Hehe.

Sounds like the same JMPI the Germans used when our unit did a 2 week jump exchange when I was with the 1/325th.
