The email that is circulating about the fund raising opportunity may or may not be real. It may not matter that it is out there if it is indeed real. However the name that is being associated with it is real and he works in fund raising for us. He is a damn good guy with a family and a job to take care of. He is not John or a big money booster and could be adversely impacted if he were to be seen as a leak of any type. I know many of you think it is fun to play PI but please do not be the one who names someone and gets them marked. I have said multiple times members of the AD are on this board. One of them has been posting in this thread. Consider the unintended consequence of posting any names of people that are working for a living. Please bump this to make sure it gets read.

The folks I know have not heard of anything beav has said and they do know quite a bit. I will share if you will.

Someone leaked his social media profiles week ago and it was about as obvious as it gets that it was him. Afterwards those profiled were deleted.

Question to those that can remember.........during the 2012 search, didn’t Gruden make a definitive statement that he was not coming to coach Tennessee? And am I correct that in everything I’ve seen so far, he has not made any statement like that this go around? Apologies if asked already, I’m mean there are 38 of these threads. Thanks.

I believe it was his agent that made the comment IIRC. And I think they stated that he was not offered the job, not that he declined an offer.

No. Bubba brought up the VC not Beav. And one of them actually said that it wasn't castor ventures. And no details have been given about how the VC is involved.

The Beav is real.

Beaver did allude to it in XXV, near the end of the thread, I think. He mentioned something along the lines of, "think VC", or in some certain terms that hinted at this is what he meant. But yes, I agree, Bubba has been the one steering the VC talks as a whole.

What if in negotiating Butch's buy-out a commitment was made to Sexton that a certain number of his clients would be interviewed for the position.

What if UT agreed to this commitment, but at some point Gruden talk got serious enough that a MOU was signed.

Enter Sexton, who screams bloody murder and threatens to blow the top off of the buy-out agreement, break silence, etc. etc.

Enter Haslams, who according to many have been more loyal to Sexton than to UT with regard to personnel decisions - who begin pressuring Currie to honor deal with Sexton

This leads to delays in completing final deal (beyond MOU) with Gruden

Again, this is hypothetical, with no sources. But is a scenario where you could have a "done deal" (MOU) with Gruden, but still have major hurdles to deal with (i.e. Sexton and Haslams), before finalizing and announcing.

What? So the agent agrees to screw his own client, Butch, in order to help his other clients. Sounds like a great way to lose your license.
