He already told us, he is not going to do or say ANYTHING to jeopardize the process or his role with the University. He can't be more clear than he is being.

Could have simply said on to plan B..You guys still will be happy..maybe not as happy but happy. believe he will tell us if over for sure. Still think CJG is thinking it over and clock is running

If Gruden doesn't get back into coaching in the next couple of years, he is never going to. The dude has a shelf life... and uncertainty at ESPN, in regard to future of MNF at the network.

If he has any desire to coach in college, Tennessee is the only place he would do it... and right now is his LAST chance to coach the Vols. If he doesn't take the job, now, the opportunity won't come around again until Gruden is 60 yrs old. If he says "no" this time, it's no for forever.

Gruden knows this.... and more importantly, so does his wife. If Gruden isn't the next Big Orange HCHC, it will be because he only has interest in NFL jobs and his wife doesn't want to come home.

I'm honestly surprised more of you haven't interpreted AV's comments on "plan a, plan b" as referring to the timing of an announcement rather than the hire itself.

AV didn't provide detail, because he said early on that he would respect the process and not step on any announcement.

Just $.02.

Agree, easy to buy out a contract, but Gruden ants to finish up some kind of commitment.

Except that he accepted our proposal and then left us at the alter!

I still like him, even if he is capricious.

Maybe the more he got to know the administration, his 'eff that' instinct kicked in...we'll never know 100%.

Maybe it’s just me, but Vegas has Gruden as the clear front runner and almost 2/1 over Mullen. Why does this carry no weight with the media? Vegas isn’t in the business of losing money or being wrong.

I thought I read somewhere where his wife wants to be closer to Tennessee?

I just don't get that. Why leave Auburn (where he has more resources) to go to Arkansas?

Auburn is run by Pat Dye and everything goes through him. It's not supposed to be the best working atmosphere for a HC who is basically told to be a yes man. And AU fans have wanted him gone the last 2 years so that could be a few possible reasons and he's an Ark man through and through. He could just be tired of dealing with Dye and basically being told what he can and can't do.

"Not all would be comfortable with plan B" .... does this open the door for Kiffen 2.0? Pure speculation, I'm grasping at any and everything right now.

I haven't paid specific attention to your posts so I can only assume that you see a negative connotation. My guess is that these extremely successful business people recognize that our last 2 (Or 3) coaches have been reactive decisions instead of deliberate choices. If I'm investing that kind of money if like some assurance that thought and intention has been put into it instead of reactions. Especially if I have footed the bill for these reactive choices.
True, kitten was for usc and then we scrambled for dools

Oh its because TN and only TN fans are betting on him. Havent you heard?

Where has Beav been anyway? Haven't seen him on here in a few days, did I miss any appearances by mystic beaver?

He's been posting quite a bit. Gonna throw two parties, one is black tie affair and another is a tailgate. I recall that being Fri. nite so he's about due to be back. He isn't offering anymore info though simply because there's no more need be said.

Am I missing something. I didn't get anything out of av post that insinuated anything that was new or negative about gruden what are you guys reading?

Also where is the plan b quote I keep reading about. I don't see that in his post

It was in a different AV post.

Because most media is, for all practical purposes...
