Sorry for being "that" guy because ive made it a point to not be but whats the latest rumblings? It seems we have been turned down by the white whale judging by the somber mood in here.

Is it Gruden being a "procedural" offer article thats the cause?

Or is it just one of those times of the day?

Agreed..don't see Mullen or Schiano happening. God help us if they are but don't believe those are our best options if Gruden says no.

If that happened, "which I do not believe will at all" they would have to win the fan base back. Good grief with our fan base there is no bases for us to have to reach that far down. Nothing is a guarantee, but good grief give me the chance at the highest upside all day long. At least the fan base buys in and at the worst if it doesn't work out more than likely you still have great revenues and quite a bit of talent. GRUDEN ALL DADGUM DAY LONG!!!!!! SOON!!!!!!! Get it DONE!

Kelly next mam up IMO

I definitely see him there unless Ariz St opens up. I read the other day he was holding out to see if the Sundevils job opened up. Could be more BS media stuff but would place money on him roaming the Pac12 sidelines somewhere next season.

Same here....if we are waiting on Gruden we are screwing up. The hire should have been wrapped up and announced. I think of all the posters here AV is the most trustworthy even though I am not sure why his messages cant be more direct and transparent. So with that in mind sounds like we are moving on from Gruden because his demands were ridiculous and never-ending, wasn't /isn't ready to commit.

How did you come up with that from his post?

No...AV posted earlier today.

If you think Mullen or Schiano is the answer so be it.

Not what I said. My list is:

1). Gruden
2). Stoops (at 57 yrs old he has to get a phone call)
3). Frost
4). Miles
5). Campbell

Kelly is not coming here!

Understand the answer to you open ended question!

I thought that his buyout $$$ are reduced based on the amount he might make at another school. Maybe I’m wrong.

OK, I think I see where you're coming from. Yes, they buyout is reduced. He can sit on his butt and collect the whole thing. But that would look really bad if he has a desire to coach again.

Ariz St wouldn't be a bad place for him either

Okay hold up. So a few days ago, CBS Sports reports that Tennessee had serious concerns regarding Gruden. Now we hear that Currie only met with Gruden as a procedural move.

While those two points can both be true, I find it odd how that was worded. If both are true, why wouldn't the CBS report just say the Vols weren't interested in Gruden? The same sources would have said as much. In other words, if the meeting with Gruden was procedural why wasn't that the plan and story all along?

Everyone will know when we have a new hire...

1. Gruden was not at Calhouns yesterday.
2. Currie primarily flies commercial on UT business..guy is a hustler and should be respected for that.
3. No need to ever track wheels up planes those are not being used for UT business
4. The vast majority of meetings are NOT happening in any location that would “make sense” (Ie, Knoxville etc)
5. Great lengths have been gone into keeping the tail numbers etc that are being used different from ones that have really ever been posted in here before. Take into account my company alone has 5 planes now that may or may not be used all of which none of those tails are known...so imagine how many others are out there. Additionally usually the registration of said planes are done with essentially phony LLC’s in states other than where the planes are used or kept that have no connection to anything that could ever get traced back to an individual.
6. There is a sense of urgency to get this done as quickly as possible but you can’t force someone’s hand purely with $$$. If it were that easy we would have someone already.

I hope everyone who was able to go to game yesterday enjoyed the experience as much as possible. I was bummed that the weather sucked....first time in box for entire game for me in a long time.

I am around a bit today relaxing preparing to turn and burn for the holiday week...I wish each and everyone of you and your families a wonderful thanksgiving holiday. Take time to hug your wife, kids, and parents if they are still around. That’s what its all about.

This happened...

Agreed, but in his delusional mind, he could sit on his butt while waiting on a UT type gig.

The latter. There has been no official statement from Currie or Gruden. Just more beat writers throwing out guesses and statements from "sources"

I agree. But it's bizarre because the family obviously does have an affinity for ut. So why would he not then immediately squash the rumors. That'd definitely be the classiest thing to do. To lead on the fan base when there really is no interest on his part is a really douche move. Hard to understand why he'd do that

It's amazing that you could reach this conclusion and not have one lick of substantive evidence to back you.
