I won't spend another dime on UT football. After this past decade the AD needs to make this a homerun or a LOT of fans are going to stop spending/going to games. Apathy is already setting in. The only reason there is any excitement right now is the thought of a bright future. You march out an underwhelming hire then I'm afraid UT will be in a death spiral in won't be able to crawl out of. We're already seeing a generation of kids that don't see UT as a relevant team. I've seen more Bama, Florida, etc. license plates, gear, flags, etc. than I've even seen in west TN. All I ever saw was UT when I was growing up. This hire is make or break. It's that serious.

IMO, the amount of latitude Currie is granting to Gruden concerning the selection of coaches and timing of the announcement can also be viewed as beta tests that indicate to Gruden the amount of real autonomy he will have once he is named. Very smart!

It's all just an echo chamber of old information, reflected back over and over through different sources, muddled just enough to appear to be something new.

We're in the quiet period. No real news is forthcoming until within 6-18 hours before Currie takes the podium.

Agreed..don't see Mullen or Schiano happening. God help us if they are but don't believe those are our best options if Gruden says no.

I think he's delusional enough to think he can land another job on par with UT. The only other power 5 school that might offer him as a head coach is Kansas. Otherwise, he's either going back to the mid-majors or taking an assistant position.

Same here....if we are waiting on Gruden we are screwing up. The hire should have been wrapped up and announced. I think of all the posters here AV is the most trustworthy even though I am not sure why his messages cant be more direct and transparent. So with that in mind sounds like we are moving on from Gruden because his demands were ridiculous and never-ending, wasn't /isn't ready to commit.
