Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Without question the most fun games I ever played in football were in the rain. THE most fun was an early September downpour where the whole field was covered in 3 or 4 inches of rain. The refs would spot the ball and have to hold in down with his foot until they broke huddle and the center came to put a hand on it. It rained from before the game started til after it was over and we had a blast. Never heard so much laughing during a game of school ball again.

I dont miss the way our pads, helmets, and locker room smelled after that game though. Good grief it was horrible. For a week or 3.

We played baseball in the neighborhood with a loaded whiffle bat (full of dirt) and taped up whiffle balls. Had a lot fun playing that too. I am glad I grew up in a time when "be home when the streetlights come on" was all the parental supervision we had on weekends and summers. Riding everywhere on BMX bikes, building forts in the woods, and just running free until dark. Good times in the 80s.
I liked football in the rain as well, but got to play a few games in the snow, now that was a lot of fun to. Yeah the 70s and 80s were a great time to grow up in east Tennessee. Going back to motorbike talk, early on a neighbor had a RM50 and the another had Honda 80 and 125, both were street/trail. Lot of fun, but my parents were not about to get me one, I was dangerous enough on my go-cart and BMX bike.

Looks like we got shafted in our bracket. 6seed plays 11seed in the 1st round...but our 11seed just happens to be Miami(oh)...who went undefeated in the regular season before losing their 1st game In the conference tournament 😳 If we beat them (IF) then we get 3seed UVA. Not gonna make the Sweet 16 this season unless we play at our best all season for 2games in a row.

I was also banned from motorcycles. So of course I bought a crotch rocket as soon as I could as an 18yo. They were probably right though. I would have probably done really dumb stuff on a dirtbike.

I was banned too, when I was 14 mom let me trade a home built gocart for a Honda cb90 that her bosses son had been completely disassembled, motor off, jug off the motor, wheels off. It went home in the trunk. 1.5 months later she came running out the back door when it came to life minus the muffler.

yep brings back some painful memories of finding out those things don't climb trees very well...

Perfect time of year. Mardi Gras was 10 days ago. City is relaxed, clean, and uncrowded. Upper 60s, light breeze.

Did you go by Tropical Isle and get a hand grenade? One of my best friends runs them.

Just got the call that my Mom died last night. Apparently in her sleep. Happy she didnt suffer, but obviously upset. All my grandparents and both my parents are gone now. Appreciate you guys praying for my mom and my kids.
Dude I just saw this….. I’m sorry bro. I remember when I lost my second parent. It hit me harder than the first. I hope your family is doing well

Heads up for any of you goobers with big commercial auto or property insurance, the market is softening. We were expecting around a 7% increase in property and auto this renewal, broker came back with an almost 25% decrease in premiums. Contact your agent/broker, ours said the market has just tanked within the last couple of weeks.
Which agency do you guys use? Gallagher? HUB? Brown & Brown? They bring in the same carrier as expiring?
