Just like to officially say screw Jason Witten. For taking the OK job, steering his son there, stealing Jack Van D, now signing the #1TE in the 2027 class and just constantly being in the media kissing OKs ass and talking about how they are the most storied program in history. He can eat a fat bag of d!cks

Preach!

SEC Basketball tourney is here.

Can't imagine anyone is very confident in how UT will perform. Also with March Madness being the most important, I don't know if the SEC tourney is even something people are excited about.

The conference tournaments have lost their luster. Pretty much only matter to the bubble teams IMO.

Did Heuple ever offer him a job?

The way this team plays it wouldn't surprise me to see them eliminated 1st, 2nd or 3rd. They can play with anybody and lose to anybody.
I agree with the second half of your last sentence. I just don't think they're very good this year. Haven't seen their draw yet obviously, but I would be shocked to see them advance past the Sweet 16 this year. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round.

Doubt it. Alex Abeln has been here for 3years at the TE coach position and landed top10 TEs back to back to back in Davis, JVD, and Brahme. All were top10 nationally I believe...I know JVD and Brahme were. Then he spotted Kitselmans talent and got him balling right away too. Alex is one of our better recruiters. Maybe he was offered the position back then before AA...

Regardless, grabbing JVD from us at UT when we definitely wanted to keep him is BS. Dont blame him for wanting to be with his son in college, but I bet you CJH would have brought him on as an analyst/asst TE coach in order to have his son (#1 ranked LB in 2027 class nationally). If we did so we would likely still have JVD and landed the #1 TE in 2027 because both of them have said they went to OU to play under Witten at TE.

I'm sure the Dad, who knows this game better than you and I, handled it right for his kid.

Probably saw how crappy our defense was last year under Banks and said "no way." Sucks that timing worked out the way it did. If we had Knowles last year it would have probably been a different story. Maybe. Our defense finished dead last in the SEC last year at 16th.

Here's the good thing: we are so loaded at LB that we dont need his son. Just the 2LBs we landed in the 26class (1 year ahead of son) were ranked like 74th and 75th overall in their class. White and Rouse both have NFL potential. Perlotte and Harmon from the 25 class were both Bluechips too. Ahead of all 4 of those Bluechip underclassmen are Spillman, an All SEC LB last year Carter and an All Big10 LB last year with 100+ tackles in Campbell. I dont remember when we had a LB room this deep. Not in the last 20years probably. Coach Inge has got a tough job trying to find snaps for and keeping everyone engaged. One thing that makes me think we will be able to hang on to the 4 Bluechips after this season (hopefully) is from Knowles first interview. He said when he asked the players themselves which room had the tightest bond on the team that everyone answered the LB room...regardless of where they played. Inge has been a stellar recruiter, apparently his LBs love him and eachother too.
