Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Okay, maybe this is widely known and I should know, but I don’t and I’m too lazy to look it up, but ... why is the championship game of this tournament already decided and we haven’t lost? Why is it predetermined that Michigan and Gonzaga play for the championship?

Talking about how Michigan and Gonzaga could be a future Final 4 matchup and here we haven’t lost and just beat the #3 ranked team in Houston and are beating the always powerhouse Kansas, WTF kinda tournament is this?

I asked same question in the bball forum. Someone said it was based on margin of victory. Lol. Pretty ridiculous.

Yes there were 18teams. 5 of them went 2-0. Margin of victory put us 3rd and Kansas 4th...so we play them in the 3rd place game.

We gave that game away to kansas. Were up by 12 with 14mins to go. I get that our team was exhausted playing its 3rd game in 3 days vs FBS teams. Why did Barnes let them keep running our normal offense and heaving up 3s that barely hit the front of the rim or were airballs...i saw at least 3 airballs in the last 5mins...when this years team has 4 good bigs???

We let kansas go on 8-0 and later 12-2 runs with our bigs on the bench while Gillespie kept heaving 3s (he was 1-9 from 3 last i saw) I know kansas was playing zone...but Barnes should have MADE our team force the ball inside. We would have either been shooting free throws OR getting dunks and layups...any of which would have prevented the 8-0 and 12-2 runs. Barnes is a HOF coach and has forgotten more about hoops than i will ever know...BUT we shot 20% or worse from the floor in the 2nd half. Always short due to tired legs. We should have made them stop or foul us down low instead of shooting jumpshots that had zero chance. It doesnt matter if you're open for a 3 when everyone in the bldg knows you wont make it anyway. Kansas played all zone and let us shoot all those 3s...they knew we were too gassed to make them. It worked and we blew a 12pt lead in the 2nd half...

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your day!
In the spirit of ridiculous argument common to the PF:

You've got some nerve telling me how to experience my day. Why don't you worry about your day and I'll do mine the way I want?

In seriousness, you've had a tougher than normal year. I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with the warmth of loved ones gathered and great memories of loved ones who have passed. Blessings to you and yours, Joey.

You know, regardless of anything, they ALL feel extra large when they're implanted.

I hadn't been reading in this thread in a while so I don't think I knew what you've been going through.

I hope you are in remission. I've learned it's not until you experience it up close that you really appreciate and empathize with others.

I will have to catch up on your story reading through the thread. I haven't said anything before but I lost my mom this year and it was painful to me. Looking back I wish she would've chosen radiation but it was chemo only. Nonetheless, it's changing the way I celebrate this Thanksgiving weekend.

I will be praying for you.

This might be my last season for cable in a while. I can save a minimum of $2400 a year. I have a few channels I really like that we won't have through Prime, Netflix, antenna, etc.

Minor expenses keep going up. Including, I'm proud to say we are sponsoring a child in Africa through our church. I believe that is more rewarding. I also think that is the way we should give to organizations. Privately....not through government tax dollars who owe a responsibility to it's citizens to manage those funds appropriately.

We’ve gone through and eliminated everything that we don’t need to save money. It’s interesting that the formerly cheaper options have figured that out and are jacking up prices too.

We’re in the process of doing the same. It’s shocking how many useless subscriptions one can accumulate through the years.

I notice on Prime that they let you watch the first show of a lot of series then try to charge extra for the season. Seems more prevalent now.
