We played avocet a few years back on our trip. I thought it was nice and a bit different than most. Thought about hitting it up when I’m able to but the reviews seem hit and miss. I guess like most courses the condition is what matters most especially the greens.

Courses in the area that I would highly recommend if you haven’t already played them.

Blackmoor in Murrels Inlet.
Jaguars Lair and Tigers Eye up north at Ocean Ridge Plantation. (my two favorite layouts in the whole area)
The Thistle
Tidewater
Caledonia
True Blue
The River Club
The Dunes Club
Prestwick
Long Bay
Aberdeen

There are tons of others that are certainly worth playing by anyone’s standard, but those are my favorites.

We almost always do thistle and make a day of it and do all 27, sometimes 36. We do Caledonia when we can. Only did tidewater once but would like to do it again. We do MBN a lot, TPC, arrowhead, and either some barefoot or legends courses depending on where we stay. We did Brunswick one time but only played there once. Did farmstead but I hear they sold it and closed down. I’ll keep the others in mind. Prestwick is right near our place down there so I may give it a shot whenever we head down in a few weeks.

Make sure you play the Big Cats at Ocean Ridge, you can’t go wrong with any of them, but Tigers Eye and Jaguars Lair are a cut above. They do everything right at their golf plantation, top quality everything there including service.

Listened to a VOLS podcast today with VFLs discussing UAB and MSU. Both Daniel Hood and another former defensive player (big dude like Hood) were very concerned about our Dline going into this game after the way they have played the last 2 games. We know that our backup DTackles have been playing way too many snaps bc Hobbs and Moi are missing...Dom Bailey who is actually a SDE has been moved inside and as DT3 he played 65 snaps vs UGA which is twice the normal 30 to 35 snaps per game Garner likes the Tackles to play per game. We have been soft in the middle vs the run even against UAB in the 1st and 2nd halves. They also pointed out that Josh Josephs is extremely talented and in his final year that we need to hear his name called more. He had 0 tackles 0 sacks 0 pressures vs UAB didnt register on the stat sheet...when he is a projected 1st rounder by some and is expected to produce like Pearce as our #1 Edge. Hood said he was really worried about our Dline especially with MSUs 230lb big RB. We struggled vs SYR big back in the 1st game. The other defensive player said if something doesnt change at DLine that he thinks we get beat at MSU this week.

I dont think we lose this game, but they are gonna score points and move the ball. This is likely to be a shootout this week but I think our talent prevails over the course of 60mins as long as we come ready to play. Hope we get Moi back though. Hobbs isnt expected to play...and our DBs have been leading our team in tackles (Boo led last week) which is a terrible sign for a defense. We need better LB play and Dline to get healthy. I hope that Spillman and Harmon get more minutes at LB this week. They are both better athletes than Telander. GO VOLS

Best sense of humor on VN as always. For a nanosecond i thought you may have finally been offended. Fwiw...as a former skinny little runt that had to work for years to put any muscle mass on (and still skinnier than I'd like tbh) I have never made a remark about you or any of our fellas weight. If i had to guess the average shape of our PF brethren though, I would say the word "round" would likely apply to most given our ages. Hopefully we can all get together for a game one year. My daughter and I are going to the Arkansas game thanks to a PF regular this year. Gonna try to make a home game with her every year from now on.

** also we play WV over here in Charlotte in 2027 i think. If any of yall want to come I will be happy to get up with you folks and have a meal/beer/tailgate whatever.

My Dad and I were in the same corner endzone as the Gaffney NO CATCH. It was probably 20 or 25 yards away from us. My Dad nearly cried, and he never shed a tear about the cancer that devoured him. I have no mercy for Flarda. I hope they lose every game, in every sport, forever. I hope they lose even if them winning vs their opponent gave us a better shot at the playoffs. They ruined most of the falls in my teens and early 20s. They are a festering boil on the asscheek of humanity.
