They picked on him as much as Redmon between the run and pass plays. Turrentine lead the team in missed tackles last year with 12...as a Safety. When a safety misses a tackle its a BIG gain. I really hoped we had someone to beat him out this year and start, but that didnt happen. I wonder what happened to Jacobe Thomas? Farooq played pretty well yesterday especially for a 1st year starter. Seems like Turrentine has been here for CJH entire 5 years. We have 2 really good Safety prospects coming in the 2026 class, one of which is (former) 5* Wyatt. Our defense will be much better when we have 2 good Safeties. We have had issues at Safety since CJH got here. Thats why we brought in J. Thomas. Wouldnt be surprised to see us grab another Safety next portal this winter.

Definitely. Telander is a beast against the run, but a liability in pass coverage. He plays Middle/Mike LB and in fairness, theres only a couple people in the NFL at that position that can hold up decently against athletic TEs and Slot WRs...which is exactly why offensive coordinators draw up plays specifically to get that mismatch. Telander is an SEC caliber LB but not great...he starts over guys faster than him every game though, and our LB coach seems like the smartest asst on staff to me. We signed 2 bigtime LBs in 25 in Harmon and Perlotte, and have 2 more LBs ranked in the top 100 overall coming in 26. We will improve at LB. Arion Carter is a freak athlete and by far the best tackler on our team...he missed a 4th down tackle AND a sack Saturday when the QB was right in front of him. (#7) seems like he played about 80 out of UGAs 94 snaps on offense though. Its gonna happen.(Arion could have played all the snaps. Havent read PFF yet)

Turrentine is a mystery. He is a good athlete but not great, but he takes terrible angles several times a game. Its more a mental thing with him. I was really hoping someone would beat him out for the job this year but he ended up being the veteran leader in a very young safety room. We have Farooq who is solid and those 2 good Safeties coming in as freshmen next year. Turrentine wont be here so I think its almost certain that we grab a Safety from the portal. We had 6DBs come in this year for 2025 though also. Merritt and Redmon are Corners but a couple of those guys will compete for playing time at Safety next year too. We should be better at Safety next year. Been saying that for a couple years now though...

So looks Like Arion Carter actually graded out 5th worst on our defense. Both Safeties and the freshman Corner Redmon are at the bottom too. I was right though Arion played 86 snaps. Thats way too many to stay strong and fast. Our Dline actually looked pretty good vs UGA this year though for the 1st time in CJH tenure. The Oline did well too.

I was in Columbia when Tee completed his first 17 passes...then a record...in a blowout on our run to the Title. Only game i could attend that year. What JA did saturday was special. He threw about 35 passes and that long INT into double coverage was the only real bad pass all day. He was on fire. The other pick Staley tripped over a sunbeam coming out of his break

Haven’t played there recently but have played there a lot. They had rerouted the course the last few times I played while building a new clubhouse. I assume they’ve got it back to normal by now even though they had alternated 9s before that. Nice practice facilities.

He had a couple that werent great...that pass to Matthews at the end of the game he threw a Bazooka Joe bullet due to adrenaline. Would have been a 10 yard gain minimum. I cant blaim anyone on offense for this loss though. When we score 38 points in regulation we should win 100% of the time. This loss is on the defense and of course the kicker IMO.

Looks like we are gonna have to put up a lot of points to win games while we are missing Corners and DTs...Gibson is gone for the year but Hood is legit. We need McCoy back badly on the other side. We win that game by at least 2 TDs with McCoy. His replacement Redmon allowed 6 catches for almost 120 yards on 7 targets. He also gave up 4 or 5 PI/holding penalties that were automatic 1st downs plus yardage. He is clearly quite talented and can be good...hes just straight outta HS and inexperienced.

welp I am pretty sure my fiance's dog is trying to kill me. 2 times in the last 3 days she has tackled me down the stairs. thankfully I have been near the bottom so I haven't broken anything, but my back is all jacked up right now.

she has also learned if she stands behind us when we are cooking she can sometimes get us to drop food when we trip over her. that hasn't helped my back.

pro tip, do not demand an ultimatum. you will quickly learn she values the dog over you. i MIGHT be speaking from experience.

I know that. "thankfully" in this instance the fiance' is also getting tired of constantly being tripped. so she knows I am not bs'ing, and she has seen at least one of the tackles.

I can't find that post McDad where did you see it bro...or do you remember who posted it? There are a few posters like Larry (LWSVOL) that if they post something you can 100% take it to the bank...but lots of people just post crap.
I agree with the new guy (glad you're here bud) that if he isnt playing by Ark we won't see him this year.

Bout to watch the tues morn VQ video. Will let you know if they say anything
