Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

True story. On the way to new York we drove. There were tornadoes in Winchester VA. So we stopped for the night in Harrisburg. The college graduation was that night so there was 1 room available anywhere within 140 miles. A suite at some version of the Marriott. 470$ …….I almost risked the tornado

My screen name is my 4th or 5th try and being pissed the 1st time I ever logged on VN. I hate it but since we can't change em...apparently i think like others when it comes to a name. Thus the first 4 tries already being taken.

Little secret I discovered some time ago. Write the password etc down before you ever type it in ... and make damn sure you type what you wrote. Preferred method is type it in a text file and copy and paste.

The wife has a new Chromebook that she bought her dad (he died in the middle of Apr). Between that and the stuff she's dealing with, she decided to set up the laptop for herself without letting me keep an eye on the process, and a few minutes later couldn't reproduce the password. I may be anal about passwords, but all her login stuff seems to get flushed, and it drives me nuts trying to fix it. Got to deal with a financial company tomorrow to get a stock account moved into her name. Turns out she already had an account with them - and no clue even what the account number is, so when I tried to create an account for her, it bombed. Tax season is the worst - at least I've managed to get a lot of stuff switched back to real mail - should be a law requiring that tax forms be sent by mail even if they are available electronically.

I hired a manager to work for me. I pay him $74,000. He was making $95,000 at Buc-ee's. He said it was the worst job he's ever had.
1. I assume its the public that is the issue there.
2. they work hard at a Buccees. you never see someone on a phone or standing around.
