Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

The Basevols are kicking Notre Dames ass right now in the second game of the super regionals 12-2. TN lost the first game 6-8, so it looks like tomorrow's game will send the winner to Omaha. I'm thinking the connection with Peyton Manning and Omaha will bring us special luck.

Been there, but it happened to me at about 1am. It wasn’t an 18-wheeler, but the wrong-way driver was about that same distance away (or a little closer) when I spotted him, and he had no lights on. I was very lucky.
😳 holy crap! Glad you avoided the guy.

I met a car going the wrong way on an interstate once. Fortunately the driver was in the far left lane (three lanes) and a cop with lights on was pacing the car on the other side of the barrier. Hopefully the people behind me noticed the cop and caught on like I did, and the wrong way car didn't do anything stupid. Just last weekend I watched a car cross the median and pull right out in front of a car in the left lane - there are some really bad drivers out there.

For some reason, there are always a lot of wrong-way drivers on the freeways in the Phoenix area. I’m convinced it’s drug related because you would almost have to be trying to enter the freeways going the wrong direction. It could also be partly due to having a high number of illegal immigrant non-English speakers (unable to read the street signs) since we’re so close to the border. I was on a 2-lane state highway on an indian reservation (just east of Scottsdale) when it happened to me. There were absolutely no street lights in that area. God was looking out for me that night.

Had that happen once when I was driving back to Memphis on I-40 around 10:30 pm. I topped a hill in the right lane & there was a driver in the left lane that came over at the same time I was going over. Freaked me out something bad ... I was in my 20s then.

I’m pretty sure that is an 18 wheeler being towed.

One night in school we made a late night road trip to and from Chattanooga. On the way back, the passenger in the front seat was sleeping. We came up on a truck being towed like that and decided we would ride up real close to it all scream in horror at the same time.

The passenger came to and about crapped his pants. Took a minute for him to process what exactly had happened. Or didn’t happen in this case.
