My son & his wife live in Hendersonville, TN....trip will take 2 hrs & 12 minutes depending on traffic of course.
Hope to get back tonight sometime safe & sound & in 1 piece. I've never been to where they live....I'm hoping to find them easy peasy like......I hate getting lost......having to double back-and-forth in getting the right exit ramp.
Right now, I'm waiting on the slow moving wife to get ready as you know guys.....takes all day in waiting on them.

Hendersonville is easy to navigate. Pro tip, If you drive into the lake, you've gone too far.

From what I've seen, there's plenty of lakes around that area....
My son lives off the VietNam Memorial Highway.....TN-386 road......exit #6 ? Fun time ahead.

They aren’t infallible. Google maps was boning me pretty hard to Texas and back. It has a hard time with construction detours and the difference between a frontage road and an on-ramp.

I am old fashioned too in many ways bro....

But you are being silly/ crazy to still use mapquest and the like. Follow these easy steps and you will thank me later:

1. Go to google play or the apple store on your phone.

2. Download an app called WAZE. (Free!)

3. Enter your sons address.

4. Enjoy turn by turn directions in real time as well as alerts when a cop is nearby, reroutes to avoid accidents or heavy traffic, and speed limit/your actual speed from GPS so you know the limit and how fast you are actually going each second . Super cool.

* WAZE is much better than google maps that comes with your phone. It was developed by Israeli military (IDF) . Much better than other services IMO.

You get lost in Texas you can go way outta the way.
I was out in country near Sealy one time and gps told me to take a left, drove 2 miles, take left, drove 2 miles, take left drove 2 miles and ended up 1/2 mile right down where I started. She could of said "turn around".

I had a good trip today.....if you love Nashville traffic. Left my son's house at 4:00 pm and got home at 6:12 pm tonight.
Doing 85 mph on I-40 West.....morons love to stay on the bumper.....Lol....must be going too slow.

So, I'm leaving Nashville today on I-40 heading west. It was getting dark, and you would not believe the old f***er poking along in the passing lanes at about 80-85 mph. I rode one old guy's ass for some time, hoping he would take the hint. If he can't run with the big dogs, he needs to sit at home under the porch. The old guy was trying to read a piece of paper, maybe even a map. He looked like he had no clue where he was going. Guess he didn't have navigation on his car.

When I used to use town maps, I found that I learned the roads and names much better and could navigate myself after some time. Now I just go where am told and don't pay as much attention to road names and am too reliant .
