Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Not sure we will win more than 2 games. Sad state of affairs. Just when I think we've finally hit bottom, we just keep digging deeper.

IMO, the bottom will be:

1-11
JG starts every game regardless of poor play.
Pruitt is retained and keeps the entire staff heading in to 2020.

My first calculator was a TI SR-50a. The bookstore sold them for about $100. They had a nice 1/16" high 7 segment LED display. The HP reverse polish calculators were for rich kids.

I could never get over "reverse" and "Polish" in the same sentence. The whole concept felt backwards to me, so I went with TI when I got back to UT.

Again staying out of FF for a few days, but have to say that I don't think firing Pruitt now is the answer. I get that people are unhappy but it seems to me that if you fire him you send the message to the players that the season is over and there is panic. I've seen very few college teams rebound when the head coach is fired in such circumstances. Usually it is the opposite. They give up.
If this is the team trying I’m genuinely curious to see what giving up looks like.

This administration and the ones before have continued to make crap hires, one after another. I don't believe we'll have a winning record again until another coaching change is made.

Why would you think that?
Have you not seen what the last 4 coaching searches brought us?
A coaching change isn’t going to fix Tennessee football as we’re too stupid to hire a good coach.
We will not play for another championship in my lifetime

Unless he bails...we have an elite 11 QB now on campus and another 1 on the way in Bailey. They actually invite a dozen kids from the US to the final elite 11, but both kids placed in the top 5 or 6. In the country. Hard to believe that JG is the answer. I know those who watched saw coach snatch him up by his jersey on natl TV when he threw the pic right after halftime.

Not sure what to hope for...if he benches JG I will watch for the rest of the season and. E miserable, if he doesnt I wont watch but will still be somewhat miserable because my blood has run orange for 40 years. Cant let last night happen again though. Dead sober I was up for hours because I was too angry to sleep. Misery. Not worth the stress

Thought we were the better team overall, but the interception and the broken coverage was catastrophic. Our rush defense was solid for the majority of the night. We looked conservative in pass coverage, it was obvious Pruitt does not have trust in the secondary. Offensive line looked much better than last week, curious to see how they grow throughout the year. I’m ecstatic with our backs. All of that gets offset when the QB is currently incompetent.

Before this season started I knew that regardless of outcome, I wanted to see development and improvement from our team. Some we never saw during the Butch years. It’s too early to make an argument on that yet. If by Kentucky our secondary still looks lost, and our QB situation is still a train wreck, I will be concerned, but for now I’ll just try and stay passively optimistic. Im past numb at this point to feel anything anyways.

That's a reasonable take. I am still too angry to be reasonable lol. Losing Thompson in the secondary was huge. For yelling at his girlfriend. Burrell got picked on early but then did much better. It was Alontae. He was the clown who let a receiver get behind him and then got burned for a TD in OT. He is still just a soph...but started all year last year. The team played pretty well. Should have won. Jg beat us. That simple

I forget but believe the entry of 2+2 is: 2, enter, 2, +
Saw one on eBay for $199. I would gladly take this for mine if I would not of lost it.

I think Doughety was chemical engr and metallurgy; I took metallurgy courses there. Ferris was generally electrical engineering, and Perkins generally mechanical. I was nuclear, but I had other engineering classes in all three.
Okay. The engineering stuff was above my pay grade. I didn't go in their buildings.

Question for anyone who saw the end of the LSU-Texas game:
Anybody think that LSU would have won with our qb, or our play calling at the end of the game? Like CP said, our plays were called around our qb's talent or lack, thereof.

We are lucky the stretch run was working so well, otherwise we may have been shut out. They were able to take the ball out of JG’s hands only because there was an alternative. Florida will stop that run and eat JG for lunch. 31-3 is not out of the question. This is not how a QB with this much experience should be playing. How bad are the backups?

I watched that game with McRib. LSU finally has a QB. The kid is impressive. And the coaches trust him to make the play. LSU gets UF and maybe Bama this year. And their defense is still elite.

To answer your Q, not a chance they win with JG.

What would the final score have been if Texas had our qb instead of Ehlinger?
