Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

You should try standing in a 100+ degree greenhouse, and answer questions all day.

How much sun does this take?
How tall does it get?
How close should I plant these?
Will this take full sun?
Will this come back next year?
How often do I water it?
I bought a purple flower last year that was on this bench, do you know what it was?

……...and that is just one person. Multiply that by 100 people or more.
Definitely wasnt the worst thing I have done, even at this firm. It's just takes a lot of effort pretending to like these people while looking at their portfolios for 6 hours. It's like kids bringing home their finger paint and you having to put it on the fridge, constantly.

Sounds like retail.

Buying hundreds of dollars worth of signage with care instructions didn't help much either, and they get pissed when you tell them there is a care instruction sign right by it. They want to hear it from you.
They probably figure you were around when God created that plant so you’ve got some good tips.

Yeah I dont like people enough to do that. And in this case we are trying to convince them it is our money they should take and not someone else
Career things can be so cringey when the students just lay it on. You think you’re all grown up now because you have on a jacket and tie and you’ll really impress these recruiters with all your book learning. I like to think I was not as bad, but I know I was.

For us it's frustrating because all the stuff they show us is wont apply to their real world job at all.

I bought that crap last month... It also comes with a duffel bag, I guess. I feel like a sucker and have been thinking it may have been a scam so it does make me feel better to know others have gotten that card in the mail. It went to a number in Texas which is a little weird and she wanted my work number which I didn't give. Oh, well...

They are working on this again! Got an email today asking for a “confirmation” of the info they got in the fall. 🤣

He would take away my privileges.

Like this guy...

still a nay vote.

I don’t know about prof but I am happiest on my forklift.
The job that I enjoyed most was when I was delivering greenhouse plants to retailers. It was just me, alone in my box truck, out all day, not having to deal with anybody. I can understand how truck drivers can be happy and satisfied.

I enjoyed my first job a lot, KNS paper route - except for getting up at 4 AM on Sundays. That $16 a week lifted me out of poverty!
