Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Another one I wish would just have shut up and acted but yeah I am a fan of his work. He was a really gifted actor.
This is nearly all of them sadly. Chris Pratt is hilarious and he's a Conservative and Christian. There are a few others...but the vast majority of Hollyweird is super Woke Lefty or full on Communist. Unbearable to listen to. What's really disappointing is when a guy who plays a great character thats clearly Conservative...like Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec who only eats meat and has a million jokes...the actor who plays him is a completely delusional Lefty that is basically the exact opposite of the character everyone loves. Its kinda like when I found out that the Fonz was gay...or that wrestling is fake as a kid. Just ruined television for anything except live sports.

RD was a kind of a wild Texas preacher in the movie and discovers that his wife is having an affair. He beats her lover into a coma. He soon after that flees TX assuming a different identity starting a new church in Louisiana. It was Definitely a different type of role for Robert Duvall.
Good movie. Also, I am turning you in for watching it 🤣

It’s considered an addictive drink. The church many years ago took a hard stance against hot drinks like coffee and tea.

The SLC area is a great place to live. Would have loved to raise my family there. My Dad lived in Layton about 10mins from Hill AFB...from that time 30+ years ago until now I have never seen so many pretty blonde and ginger girls anywhere else. Utah is 90%+ white and for whatever reason Mormon girls have a very high % of blonde hair especially. Everyone there was really nice and courteous in the 4summers I spent there. Almost zero crime. Mormons make great neighbors.

If I were to sell out, I'd move to rural middle Tennessee on the plateau, north or south of Crossville. Our plan is to cruise the Bahamas in the wintertime on our own boat. Trying to position ourselves for that now.
I anticipate we will move to the Cookeville area from southern Mid TN. we have a daughter , sil, and grandbaby there and a son, and soon to be dil who would also like to settle there.

My dream of living in the mountains (like huge mountains) will likely go unrealized. Maybe like you we can travel there regularly.

Yeah, our plan was to sell out and move to somewhere on the plateau, considerable acreage. My daughter and her husband had always said they wanted to move closer to the beach. My son and his wife are more "stay around the family" types but she's a 3rd year medical student and he's a EE so we figured their jobs might take them away too. We are tight family so we enjoy being around each other. Then my daughter and her husband bought 20 acres a mile from us and are constructing a large barndo on it so I guess they are here for a while. I guess we'll stay too.

The older I get, the more I detest cold weather. I've been trying to retire from my business and sell/reinvest some of my rental properties to less owner-involved pieces. My plan is to do interior boat and RV storage, 10X40' buildings. Very low maintenance, something I can manage from afar. Then I can travel and/or spend my time in the winter cruising around Florida and the Bahamas. There are 900 islands in the Bahamas and I would like to see them all. Life in the Bahamas is very low stress. Maybe even venture further south into the Caribbean depending on the boat we choose. WOuld like to do that for 5 years or so before we get too old. :)

Sounds like a great plan.
