He was the golf pro at a golf course there in his semi-retirement. Why he chose WF, I have no idea.

I did overnight there a couple times, during travel between Houston and Borger. Small town, maybe he liked life that way.

Just heard that former U.T. great Ron Widby died. He lettered in 4 sports at U.T. Football, basketball, baseball, and golf. Tremendous athlete. He was 75. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints (NFL), Chicago Bulls (NBA) and New Orleans Buccaneers (ABA). He played professional football for Dallas and Green Bay, professional basketball in the American Basket Assoc, and the Senior PGA Tour. RIP big man.

Don't know if anybody else was around while he was kicking, but his punts were amazing. He hit them long but high, too, so the defenders got there and had the punt receiver covered.

The article above that StarRaider posted said Widby at one time punted an 84-yarder in a 1968 game for Dallas.
It's a mark that still stands today as the longest in team history....that's what ...... 52 years??

Merry Christmas to all my brothers and NGV. Sorry if I have been a little hostile lately. So much stress at Christmas time. I hate the commercial aspect and the stress of trying to do as much as possible for everyone...and I hate that I lost my little brother, my dad, and my last 2 grandparents in the last 2 years and they aren't here. These holidays are just hard man, when they shouldn't be at all. Its supposed to be about Jesus and love , and we try to make it about that with our kids especially ...but in truth it is incredibly stressful and for me just painful and it sucks. I will be glad when its all over.....

Hope each and every one of yall have a great Christmas, and humbly ask forgiveness for any who I may have offended...except for the liberal wingnuts....if I was a deek to you it was intentional, because you're dumb.

I know how you feel. This is our first Christmas with just me and my wife. My only brother and both parents are gone, as are both my wife's parents. Her dad died this year. She does have one sister, but they spend the holidays with her husband's folks. It will be a quiet Christmas for us.

Sounds like a good reason for copious amounts of alcohol and sex ...IIRC you drink very rarely like I do...but its 2020 bro. "Normal" was out the window 11.5 months ago.

Finally got my wife's presents wrapped. I had cat supervision for a while ... think she walked off in disgust ... may have heard her muttering "You should find somebody who knows what they're doing because you suck at this."

So all of you have a Very Merry Christmas ... and forget it's 2020 for a while.
