The cheapest hotels were still like $120/night, because of course we waited till the last minute to start looking. We ended up just renting out a room in a ladies house on www.airbnb.com for $50/night! Couldn't believe it. I didn't even know about this website until a buddy told me about it. You can even rent a futon out for $10 a night on some peoples posts. ha-ha. So more money to spend on Tennessee bowl stuff. Just FYI for anyone looking to go on the cheap for overnight stay in Jacksonville.

Not to worry, I also bought tickets on the Iowa side accidentally and I called the Taxslayer bowl guys to see if I could switch, they told me that it's looking like 80/20 Vols. So it'll be predominantly orange with the occasional sprinkling of yellow here and there lol.

Cool! I hope he remembers it! My first UT game I remember was the 1966 Gator Bowl where we beat Syracuse. I was 8! It's still a great memory 48 yrs later! I went in 1994 vs VT but it was in Gainesville. I'm in 204, Row L this time. This is my 1st bowl since 2002! Can't wait. Go Vols! Beat Iowa!!

1966 Gator Bowl, huh? That was my junior year at UTK and the highlight game-saver was when fraternity brother Paul Neumoff stuffed the great Larry Csonka at the goal line to save the win. Magical times, indeed.

I used hotels. Com and booked a room for 58 a night. I would check it out. It's 14 min from the stadium. Alot of options on there.

Really? OK good. Me and my lady like I said but just found out my aunt and uncle will be going down with us and they booked a room in the same hotel. Good to know there is a sports bar close. That way we can catch the 2 play off games

A few bars, and chains like applebees and tgi Fridays places like that. But in particular buffalo wild wings and 2 local joints. Can't wait! Meet us there I'll buy shots!

were in 405 row H 33-36, im completely stoked! this is my first bowl game and first time to take my 9 and 10 yr old "future vols" girls to a game! :rock:

Welcome to Jacksonville, Fellow Vol Fans! I am in section 205 G-1 and would like to invite any of you to join us at First Baptist of Jacksonville where I'm one of the Exec Pastors. Sunday the 28th and Jan 4, our morning service begins at 10:30. We are located 15 blocks of the stadium. Let's Go Vols!!!

After going to the Florida game a few months ago, I know some Vol fans that could use some church.
